Proton has announced that the eMas sub-brand for electric vehicles has achieved more than 10,000 registrations so far this year, therefore it has surpassed its full-year sales volume for its electric vehicles in 2025, when it sold 8,890 EVs.
The carmaker has also received 6,500 bookings so far for the eMas 7 PHEV since its launch in February. The eMas 7 PHEV is sold in three variants – Prime, Premium and Premium Plus, at RM109,800, RM123,800 and RM129,800 respectively; this model was offered with a RM4,000 rebate for the first 5,000 customers.
Contributing to the sales performance of Proton eMas models is the eMas 5 which had over 3,000 units delivered in the first month of this year. The eMas 7 PHEV is the latest model of the eMas range, following the eMas 5 that was launched in October 2025, and the eMas 7 EV that was launched in December 2024.
According to March 2026 JPJ data for electric vehicles, the eMas 5 was by far the best-selling Ev in Malaysia last month with 2,071 units registered in March, followed by the BYD Atto 3 in second place with 441 units registered; the eMas 7 EV saw 306 units registered that month.

An effort to save face for relying on foreigners after decades of bragging their failed ciptaan anak tempatan products.
Name one non-Chinese car maker that hasn’t collaborated with Chinese car makers for their products.
Mercedes, BMW, and the VW group have all collaborated with Chinese for battery and electric tech. Stellantis has Leapmotor. Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi group teamed up with Geely. Toyota and Honda resorted to Chinese partners for electrification tech. Mazda outright rebadged a Chinese EV.
Only goreng pisang level mentality will be unable to grasp this globalized landscape and think car makers must not have foreign partners.
They are nothing more than fanbois and salesmen of other brands. When their beloved brand is on top, they will sing a different song.
Subaru? Tesla? Rolls Royce?
Here come the salesmen and fanbois of other brands pretending to be patriotic…
Originality is what makes a car maker great. Copycats don’t earn as much respect.
2 common features of Malaysian made vehicles:
Firstly, Big loud ugly “logo” stamped on the back of your car. Be it “Tiger” logo or Red and White colour logo ,..
Secondly, weird name… Perodua , Proton…. cannot understand why such name…
Terpaling sgt.
Jenama tu x salah. Ianya melambangkam identiti negara asal. Yg salah bilamana da berpuluh tahun tiada kemajuan (progress) yg sepatutnya. Itu sahaja.
Use your original name to comment then. Dont be a hypocrite and hide behind pseudonyms.
Ensure all workers for these ckd chinese brands are Malaysian. Otherwise, they are NOT welcome here. Shoo, go away!
Syukur, can get 1 for cheaper than Vios GR
Many smart alec were condemning the PHEV for its stupidity of having 2 different drivetrain, increase in complexity and such a pointless vehicle.. Well number speaks for itself, and Malaysians do want to have this flexibility especially for Balik Kampung trip, either Raya or CNY or Deepavali. Malaysia charging facility is just not enough.
Put aside BEV or PHEV drive train, the e.mas PHEV is a much better car than the BEV. It is a bigger car, slightly better tuned suspension (although it is still soft), it feels like Geely has improved the car from the lesson learned from the BEV.
Proton has Evs people want or can afford. Perodua flying so high with their Myvis and Bezzas they so sombong in making something people other than Perodua salesman want to buy
Even P2 salesmen knew before launch that the QVE will not sell. The QVE was rushed just to meet the deadline set by Miti for its EV grant.
Meanwhile garbage hauler on wheels called QV-E is still trying to sell the floor mats but no one wants it.
There’s 3 reason why people not buying ave
1) battery renting system
2) ugly design inspired from CHR
3) rear seat is sempit
What perodua should do is build b segmen sedan car, modifying Vios design
