During an integrated operation along Jalan Tun Razak yesterday, several Mat Rempit attempted to avoid police cordons by riding against the flow of traffic. As reported by Bernama, Kuala Lumpur Traffic investigation and enforcement department (JSPT) chief Asst Comm Mohd Zamzuri Mohd Isa said the dangerous manoeuvre was detected throughout Op Mabuk and Op Samseng Jalanan.
“In the chaos, some riders were willing to go against traffic in an attempt to escape, but their efforts were unsuccessful,” he said. In addition to the police (PDRM), personnel from the road transport department (JPJ), National Anti-Drug Agency (AADK) and Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) were also involved in the integrated operation.
ACP Mohd Zamzuri revealed a total of 750 motorcycles and 80 cars were inspected during the integrated operation, with 751 summonses issued for various offences and 98 motorcycles seized. Meanwhile, JPJ issued 59 summons notices and AADK detained two individuals after they tested positive for methamphetamine use. Five other individuals were detained for driving under the influence of alcohol and are undergoing a second breath test.
“The motorcycles were seized over various offences, including illegal modifications and absence of brakes, with one arrest made under Section 108 of the Road Transport Act 1987 for altering registration numbers,” he added.
Following numerous public complaints, particularly on illegal street racing activities around Menara Tabung Haji Selborn along Jalan Tun Razak, Mohd Zamzuri said enforcement operations would be intensified.

Can always reduce the sound level. I believe there is a maximum sound that is allowed by environmental standards or law.cannot go above it. Singapore apply this law on everyone.
To paraphrase the legendary Ling Liong Sik regarding the high rate of motorcyclist accidents and deaths, “Mereka mahu mati, apa boleh kita buat?”If they ride with a death wish with no regard for the safety of other road users, no amount of banning, restrictions, etc will ever reduce the fatality rate. They will just find other ways to kill themselves and harm other road users.
it’s the typical b40 culture of a very specific race (this is statistics, not racism). where they think behaving like chimpanzees equals cool and points. But to the rest of the world, they are simply society’s trash
98 seized for illegal modifications.
But it is easy for them to get their bikes back. Just have to put on stock parts and get JPJ to endorse and pay the fine.
Then later put the same parts back.
They should just crush the bikes.
Nearly hit them before near a road block, suddenly made a U-turn in front of me and riding against traffic
Crush the bikes ?
As usual the sob story from this community and crocodile tears will start to flow if gov does this.
“Anak saya baik orangnya”.
“Krjaan zalim. Kami org susah, moto tiada naik ape gi kerja. “
When they ride against traffic, then they have intent to kill anyone they may collide with. At least that’s my understanding of the rationale why the driver in a recent case was charged with murder. So please charge all these Mat Rempits with murder as well
JPJ should revamp the draconian and dated test SOP for motorbike riding license. One of the nonsense is learners still and must using hand signals that is only suits scooters era in 50’s which were yet to be equipped with turn indicators.
Another rule of the test is leaners must park their bike in a double stands position at the end of the test. If they forget to do just that by parked in a single stand position instead they will fail the test. I was one of the learners who got failed by a JPJ tester some 30 years ago because of the rule.
People question is, in the real world why JPJ or JSPT never issues ticket to bikers parking their bikes in a single stands if parking in double stands is mandatory and very important that bikers must obey? Is double stands park makes bikers safer? Or will it prevent bikes from thieves?
Those example of the comedian acts of the riding test are one of the reason why people especially youngsters won’t go to driving school to learn and sit the test to obtain B2/B1/B license.
Never heard of the double stand thing before. When has it been a requirement? Even back in the 90s for my first bike test, I never had to put a bike on double stand.
Besides. None of my bikes have double stand.
JPJ test? These people never bother with licences.
Our hobby is expensive, our life not. Rather die than facing the max RM300 fine which can be reduce to RM90 if got discount. That’s what rempit life worth.
All politicians have a segment of dumb population that keeps voting for them no matter what and this group is the biggest and easiest to manage because they are dumb as rock.
These scum should be shot be on sight without mercy.
