The Ampang-Sri Petaling LRT line has been disrupted due to a technical fault on the track at the Chan Sow Lin station that has caused the train to derail while passing through a track switching zone, resulting in a delay to train services, Rapid KL said in statement.
Rapid KL confirms that images on social media are of the derailed train in this incident. A total of 25 passengers were on board the train at the time, and all passengers on the affected train have been safely transferred, according to Rapid KL. No injuries were reported, and technical teams are carrying out remedial works, it continued.
Rapid KL stated that alternative trains and buses have been deployed. These are:
- Trains from Sentul Timur to turn back at Pudu (frequency four minutes)
- Shuttle trains between Cheras and Bandar Tasik Selatan at platform 1 (frequency eight minutes)
- Shuttle trains between Ampang and Pandan Jaya at platform 1 (frequency five minutes)
- Trains from Putra Heights to turn back at Bandar Tasik Selatan (frequency four minutes)
- Free shuttle buses for the Hang Tuah – Chan Sow Lin – Pandan Jaya route and the Hang Tuah – Chan Sow Lin – Cheras route
Passengers who intend to travel to the city centre are advised to use the Putrajaya Line with a change of trains at the Sungai Besi station. Passengers are also advised to use other alternative rail routes for their journeys to their destinations, Rapid KL said, and apologised for the inconvenience caused.
