Kia Sales Malaysia hosts ownership experience event to showcase aftersales operations, service standards

As part of its ‘Return, Rebuild and Reposition’ strategy, Kia Sales Malaysia has officiated the Kia Ownership Experience, a week-long event that takes place from May 11-17, 2026 at the Kia Glenmarie flagship 3S centre.

“Through the Kia Ownership Experience, we aim to build closer relationships with our customers while supporting measurable improvements in our aftersales offerings across our growing network,” said Hyung Ho Kim, president and CEO of KSM.

In addition to instilling customers confidence through a first-hand look at KSM’s efforts to fortify its aftersales operations, service standards and customer care practice, the event also serves as a platform to reconnect with existing Kia owners. Over the course of the week, around 100 owners of Kia models ranging from the Sephia and Forte right up to EV9 will bring their cars in for a 65-point inspection, all personally performed by Hyung Gyu Choi.

Hyung Gyu Choi is the senior technical manager of Kia’s ownership operation team and has over 34 years of global aftersales and technical service experience – he joined the South Korean company in 1993.

Emily Lek, who is KSM’s managing director, pointed out that the backbone of the improved aftersales operations is a dedicated parts warehouse spanning 35,000 square feet that supports greater service efficiency and faster turnaround times.

“Further to this, our structured 10-step service process reflects our commitment to service excellence – from appointment booking and personalised consultation, through to vehicle delivery and customer follow-up – and is designed to give our customers complete confidence and peace of mind throughout their ownership journey,” she said.

For those curious about the new Kia in Malaysia, everyone is invited to participate in a family day programme taking place on the weekend of May 15-17, with service-related activities, technical engagement sessions, refreshments, children’s activities, exclusive promotions and up-close access to Kia’s latest products and services offered. The event is also supported by partners such as Goodyear, Trapo and EV Connection (EVC).

WVD2133 is not your ordinary Forte… good photos opportunity for marketing…

But I do wonder who really will participate in this campaign with their legacy Naza/Kia products.

Looking at 2026-kia-ownership-experience-malaysia-slide-9 and thinking of the locally available Naza/Kia products over the last 2 decades, the Rio is a strange omission.
