Following several months of postponement, MyDigital ID will be the sole login method for the MyJPJ mobile app effective tomorrow, May 1, 2026, the road transport department (JPJ) has announced. MyDigital ID was originally announced to be the sole login method for the MyJPJ app effective February this year.
The implementation of MyDigital ID as the sole login method is aimed at strengthening cybersecurity, as well as to improve the efficiency and ease of access to a range of JPJ services through one verified digital identity, the road transport department stated. The department added that the MyJPJ app has recorded 14 million users so far; this is ups from 13 million app downloads as of February.
The latest version of the MyJPJ application includes MyDigital ID integration, guest mode functionality without requiring a login, a round-the-clock chatbot, as well as integration with JPJeBid and JPJeQ functions on one digital platform, according to JPJ.
Users of the MyJPJ app who are aged 12 and above are encouraged to register and activate their profile on MyDigital ID in line with the full implementation of the system, while MyPR holders will continue to be able to use their existing login methods through alternative channels, the department continued.

first they force people to use myjpj app instead of physical driving license. now they force people to use mydigital id to log in because nobody signed up. malaysian people are too nice, not confrontational. end up always obeying the government instead of questioning.

Why need to occupy 50mb of every rakyat’s phone space for a useless MyDigital ID App? which do not have a way to retrieve the password set, and leading rakyat to nowhere when try to use it!!
And an app that is sucking up all your location data (at the very least) and allowing the gomen to track your every move. Do you trust gomen to use the data innocently and appropriately or monetise it via their crony data brokers?
you know you can selectively disable background app battery usage and data usage , at least in android phones.
I know la moron. I run a firewall for individual app access. And if you think those android settings are going to be enough, you run a firewall and check the logs and all the requests those supposedly disabled apps make. You think the rest of the population are going to do it? Why don’t you go grow a brain la, talk so much about others own self also takde.
Reject digital ID, it’s not about protecting your kids privacy or yours. It’s to spy on you more. You give them an inch, they will take the whole ruler and tie it around you.
Without this MyDigital ID app, there are other apps for e-wallet, banking, online buying, e-hailing, etc. which are already collecting data on what, when, where & how much you spend your money. And if you want ‘go dark’ to totally avoid being spied on, you will have to learn how to live without your mobile smartphone..
