An unemployed man was charged in the Kuala Lumpur Sessions Court for possessing 3,000 litres of diesel without a valid licence. M Saravanan, age 24, was charged with possessing controlled goods in the form of 3,000 litres of diesel under suspicious circumstances.
The incident occurred in a lorry by the roadside near a school in Ayer Jerneh Road in Setapak, KL. Saravanan was charged under Regulation 3(1) under the Control of Supplies Regulation 1974, for dealing in controlled goods wholesale, or retail without a licence under Section 21 of the Control of Supplies 1961, both punishable under Section 22(1) of the same Act, reports Bernama.
If convicted, Saravanan faces a fine of RM1 million, or three year in prison, or both. For second and subsequent offences, the penalty is a maximum fine of RM3 million, or five years in prison, or both.
Prosecuting officer for the Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Ministry (KPDN), M Selvaraju, proposed a bail of RM30,000 in one surety while Saravanan, who is unrepresented, asked for a reduced bail on the grounds that he is unemployed. Judge Mazuliana Abdul Rashid imposed bail of RM30,000 in one surety and set case mention for June 2.

Why should it be lenient when he knows what he done is wrong and is illegal!? You should have know every wrongdoing there’s a consequences! if you cant pay for it just lock him up until the mention date!
Such irresponsible stuff should not be tolerate! dont forget, even locking them up, or up for court, there’s all cost in it, the taxpayer are the one who pay for the food or accomodation of him being locked up, and also the judge salary and electricity for the court while bullshiting his wrongdoing!
WTF! Why cant just reduce diesel price lah bodo PH Gomen! Solve the root cause not the symptom.
Your are the one who is intelligence challenged. Subsidised cheap diesel is the main reason unscrupulous individuals illegally stock up on this fuel to be smuggled into a neighbouring country where a nice profit could be made from the higher diesel prices there.
i wonder why he did these
definitely because of his greed for money
Since when possession is a crime unless he stole it? Is this arsehole Gomen persecuting rakyat based on presumed Minority Report type future crime that hasnt yet happen? Yea who cares about AI predicting crime when all you do is just catch the person without a warrant and throw them into jail until they confess to a crime they never committed which then triggers the more jail time trap thereby justifying their precrime acts. Dredd would be pleased.
The Control Of Supplies Act already makes it an offence for anyone to be in possession or store such a large amount (3000L) of diesel fuel (a controlled goods) without a licence or permit, even if that that person did not steal it. An unemployed man, caught with a lorry carrying 3000L of diesel without licence or permit, no doubt has to stand trial.
its literally a crime to possess large amounts of controlled goods such as subsidized cooking oil , gas cylinders etc without appropriate permits. your ignorance of the law is not excusable.
Eventhough i do not like the way government doing on the diesel subs and so on…. but it doesn’t mean we can break the laws! i am sure, even if the price is the same, he’ll still do this steal!
and those who put every blame on others, does it mean, your mother dont let u do this and that, u gonna kill her? your gf doesnt let u f her, u gonna rape her?! use ur most simple and clear mind know which is right and wrong!
come to borderland, you will see every petrol station boss are part of a syndicate, all kaya raya
that’s how little children see things
malaysia has multiple borders, which border? let me guess, thailand border because many malaysians often travel to songkhla/pattani/dannok to secretly marry extra spouse
Most likely a big syndicate behind this. Not making sense for unemployed 24y to possess 3000L diesel out of no where.
What they don’t usually publicise, is that such a suspect would be interrogated to reveal his collaborators, but since he didn’t do so, he alone has to bear the penalty.
