MBSJ finalising budget for RM80m U-turn ramp on LDP Serdang interchange – developers sharing costs

MBSJ finalising budget for RM80m U-turn ramp on LDP Serdang interchange – developers sharing costs

Those who use the LDP and Serdang interchange, good news. MBSJ is finalising the budget for an RM80 million U-turn ramp on the highway, around the Serdang interchange. The ramp will allow motorists coming from Putrajaya towards Puchong to bypass the busy interchange and head directly to Jalan Putra Permai.

“We have reviewed the design, which is approved by LLM (Malaysian Highway Authority), and we agree that it needs to be built. However, our engineering department is still finalising the project budget,” Subang Jaya mayor Datuk Amirul Azizan Abd Rahim said, reported by The Star.

He added that the project was expected to take three years to complete and costs would be shared between developers with projects in the vicinity and MBSJ. “We are also finalising the developers who will contribute to the project,” Amirul Azizan said.

According to the English language daily, the Serdang interchange was opened to the public in 1999 and caters to those travelling from the LDP to Seri Kembangan via Jalan Putra Permai. Congestion on Jalan Putra Permai – a main road that services various townships – often spills over to the interchange, which in turn causes a backlog on the LDP.

      • If it wasn’t sold then, do you think proton would have survived the china built EV invasion ?

That will case a major traffic congestion problems for 3 years before completion, would solve the problem for the 1st year but later on the same thing would happen again as there are just too many car users using the route especially ppl living around the vicinity.

On top of this, why not JKR plan several exit routes involving both serdang and puncak jalil. Problem lies at the choke point, on the south. Not so much on the north part which is along bukit jalil highway having several different exits including kinrara.

The flyover should bypass the Giant crossroad…since the main cause was the traffic light

  • I am the resident around that area, the 2 choking points
    1) the traffic light interchange from Cyberjaya/Putrajaya turning in from Sierra 16 towards Jalan Putra Permai
    2) the traffic light cross junction infront of Giant Seri Kembangan, flyover should be built

Hope the authority can look into it.

Nothing will be solved. Those who live here knows better. They expanded the lanes heading towards Cyberjaya/Putrajaya and guess what, more traffic jam. You build a new interchanged,U-Turn, however you paint it, you are inviting more car volume
