The Proton Saga MC3 that was launched last November has since been revealed to give rise to further derivatives based on its Advanced Modular Architecture (AMA) underpinnings, and among them are models codenamed AMA02, AMA05 and AMA06.

Proton has previously revealed that these will consist of two SUVs and an MPV, made possible by the modular nature of the AMA platform that enables wheelbase and track widths to be stretched by up to 290 mm. Here, Photoshop whiz Theophilus Chin has delivered his interpretation of what the Saga-based MPV could look like, having previously offered his take on the “Saga Cross”.

The “Ersaga” name on the licence plate appears to be a portmanteau of Ertiga, a Suzuki MPV that also lent its name to the equivalent Proton, and Saga, of which the latest MC3 offers some elements for this visual rendition.

Here, it is the second-generation Ertiga that lends its form to the rendition, upon which Theo has grafted the Saga MC3’s front fascia and bumper styling, while its wheels have also been taken from the latest Saga.

At the rear, Theo has likewise adapted the full-width tail lamp assembly of the Saga MC3 sedan upon the “Ersaga”, as well as the black plastic lower section of the rear bumper, with the diffuser-look fins. Higher up, the Saga tail lamp assembly negates the Ertiga units’ vertical incursion into the D-pillars, and so Theophilus has levelled the base of the rear window line.

Proton revealed in December that the one of the AMA-based SUVs, as well as the MPV, will be powered by a naturally aspirated, port-injected version of the DHE (dedicated hybrid engine) line from the i-GT engine family. In a presentation slide, this was shown to be paired with a “DHT120 transmission”, suggesting powertrain outputs lower than those of the eMas 7 PHEV.

Capable 1.5igt engine hopefully modelled in a suv like emas5 size or traz. Those A/B segment mpv like alza/aruz is a waste, behind seat could only seat small kids or pets.
