Perodua Traz – 1,901 units sold in January 2026, bang on monthly target; likely limited by production plan

Perodua Traz – 1,901 units sold in January 2026, bang on monthly target; likely limited by production plan

The road transport department’s (JPJ) latest numbers reveal that 1,901 units of the Perodua Traz were registered last month – bang on Sungai Choh’s 1,900-unit monthly target. This combines with 393 units in December (the SUV was launched in mid-December) to make 2,294 units in total.

The 1,901 units is likely limited by Perodua’s production plan – the carmaker has not revealed Traz booking numbers, so we do not know the extent of demand for the Toyota Yaris Cross twin, but it’s at least more than the monthly target/production plan.

Let’s see if it’s 1,900 units again in February – if it’s lower, that could indicate less-than-healthy demand, and if it’s higher, that could be the result of an upwards adjustment of the production schedule to satisfy demand, although this typically takes time to put in place.

The Traz is bigger than the Ativa but smaller than the Aruz. You can have the RM76k X or the RM82k H – both have a 106 PS/138 Nm 2NR-VE 1.5 litre dual-VVT-i engine and a CVT. Watch our full review above, or if you prefer to read, check out our in-depth launch report.

    Biasalah…

Perodua can slap their logo on a bullock cart and the masses will come flocking because of “RV”.

RV is so yesteryears. Nowadays RV doesn’t exist anymore since the advent of affordable EV flooded the marketplace….. hurtful truths consulted by the accountants club

Fully agreed. When we can top-up a bit to get brand new car why gets hassle to own a used car asking for high prices?

After the widespread ridicule of the QV-E’s booking figures, conveniently now Perodua releases the sales figures of their Traz which is almost exactly what their stated target is. LOL.. How many of those figures are padded up by showroom bookings for test drive units just to hit the 1900 target? Let’s see what’s the figures for the following months.

I’m more interested to know how the Bezza has been affected by the roaring reception of the new Saga.

    • Bezza might not affected by Saga yet as waiting list is still several months. It’s limited by production capacity as of now

  • Newer and expensive model save on keyless entry. Even a low spec Axia have that.
Not to mention ACC that is available in older, cheaper models.

Despite some condemn like not enough power or no ACC, the traz still will sell. In term of fuel saving, easier maintenance, reliability less problem, the perodua still win on hand only rivalry their own brand ativa or alza. The ativa not so fuel saving while the alza behind toddler seat not needed for small family.

This is TRASH, not TRAZ… unfortunately malaysians like to buy TRASH

Thumb up 19 Thumb down 10
  • The sales of Traz basically eat into the Ativa’s sales. The numbers don’t lie.

Feels like 1901 was achieved through Perodua outlets or agents forced purchased. Sounds so made-up.
