It’s no secret that John Cena is a bit of a Honda fan. The WWE superstar and Hollywood celebrity famously revealed that he daily drove a FK8 Civic Type R in the past, a car that he would later swap for the newer FL5 model in 2024.
In 2026, Cena is adding another Honda to his collection, a 2026 Prelude in Boost Blue Pearl. Announcing his acquisition on his social media pages, Cena revealed that he chanced upon the hybrid two-door coupe after bringing his Civic Type R for a service.
He previously did a spot for Honda featuring the Prelude in November 2025, in which he narrated the ad but never appeared in it. Cena did the same in October 2024 for another ad, this one being motorsport-themed with clips of Ayrton Senna and Max Verstappen.
The Prelude in the United States is priced from USD42,000 (about RM170k), making it cheaper than FL5 Civic Type R that starts from USD45,895 (RM186k). There are similarities between the two, as the Prelude is built on the Civic chassis and adopts the Type R’s suspension and brakes. Of course, the Type R is more powerful with 315 hp, while the Prelude’s hybrid system that is shared with the Civic Hybrid offers 200 hp.
