Selangor police collected around RM19.5 million during 70% summons discount from Nov 1 to Dec 30

Selangor police collected RM19,511,350 following the implementation of a 70% reduction in traffic summons compounds from November 1 until December 30 this year.

According to Selangor police chief Comm Datuk Shazeli Kahar, the amount collected is for the settlement of 258,345 summonses. These include 125,759 summonses (RM11,491,650) for on-the-spot offences and 132,586 summonses (RM8,019,700) for offences issued without the driver’s presence.

It was also revealed that the Klang Selatan district police headquarters (IPD) recorded the highest collection at RM2.7 million, followed by the Petaling Jaya IPD at RM2.1 million and the Kajang IPD at RM1.7 million.

“Selangor police are seeing a positive trend, with the public increasingly embracing digital technology. Although cash payments still recorded a higher amount at RM10,059,470, e-payment methods also showed very significant figures, with collections totalling RM9,451,880. This indicates that the public now prefers faster and more efficient transactions, in line with the nation’s digital transformation agenda,” said Shazeli.
