The free Volvo Car Connect Plus data package (previously called Digital Services) has been extended by one year for 2022- and 2023-model year vehicles, whose subscriptions will end soon, having originally been entitled to four years of free data (2024-model year cars onwards already get five years).
The extension will happen automatically – no software update nor SIM replacement needed – and it applies to 2022-model year XC40 Recharge Pure Electric, XC60, XC60 Recharge and S90 Recharge, plus 2023-model year C40, XC40, XC40 Recharge Pure Electric, XC60, XC60 Recharge, XC90, XC90 Recharge, S60 Recharge, S90 Recharge and V60 Recharge.
“The generous allocation of complimentary Volvo Car Connect Plus is our way of thanking our customers for their loyalty by letting them fully experience the benefits of our Google built-in cars, such as simply saying ‘Hey Google’ when they want to navigate to a destination or change air conditioning settings – all without being distracted from the road ahead.
“Customers who were early adopters can now have further peace of mind knowing that they, too, can enjoy a full five years of free data access without the hassle of subscribing to a new plan in the next few months,” said Volvo Cars APEC region head of total offer Sun Qian.
Data makes possible tether-free media streaming, over-the-air updates and seamless Google Assistant, Google Maps and Google Play Store integration in Google built-in Volvos. Volvo Car Connect Plus subscriptions are tied to the vehicle and are transferable to the next owner.
