Earlier this week at the 2025 Chery International User Summit in Wuhu, China, Chery International unveiled the T1TP, a concept vehicle that appears to be a pick-up truck that can be reconfigured to become a seven-seater SUV.
According to Chery Corporate Malaysia, the T1TP concept is of a unibody construction, unlike the Himla double-cab pick-up truck which is a ladder-frame model.
The cargo and interior layout of the T1TP concept was described as a 600 litre cargo bed, featuring four anchor points and four partitions to secure payloads of varying sizes. Chery mentioned adjustable dividers which suggest a movable intermediate gate between the second row of seats and the cargo bed, enabling longer items to fit by extending into the passenger cabin.
Beyond the different front fascia as compared with the Himla, the T1TP also wears different bodywork and tail lamps at the rear end, so along with the reconfigured cabin, it isn’t merely an accessorised version of the manufacturer’s double-cab pick-up truck.
No details of the powertrain for the T1TP were mentioned, however the presence of CSH badging suggest the use of the Chery’s hybrid system. At the event, Chery mentioned that the T1TP is scheduled for debut in seven months’ time, which would place it around May next year.
As for the Himla, the pick-up truck made its debut at this year’s Auto Shanghai, and it is destined for global markets. The Himla has been said to be planned for a range of powertrains, including petrol, diesel and new energy systems, the latter a China reference to electrified powertrains.
