2026 Nissan Navara pick-up truck teased ahead of Nov 19 debut – based on third-gen Mitsubishi Triton

Nissan has begun teasing the fourth-generation Navara pick-up truck, which will make its full debut on November 19, 2025. This replaces the third-generation (D23) model, which has been around since 2014 and facelifted in November 2020.

The Japanese automaker isn’t providing much in the way of details for now, but it did reveal that the all-new model will incorporate “design elements that pay homage to previous generations while delivering the advanced capability and technology today’s drivers demand.”

Prior reports indicate the upcoming Navara will be based on the third-generation Mitsubishi Triton, but with specific design cues to differentiate it. Judging by what is being teased, we can see that the Navara will get its own daytime running light signature in the form of an LED light bar on either side of its face.

This differs from the Triton that has segmented lines for its DRL signature, although it looks like both will have similar main headlamps mounted further down. Also new are the C-shaped signature for the rear taillights.

The Navara appears to share the Triton’s cabin structure, bonnet, doors, windows and rear wheel arches, suggesting that the differences are limited to the light signatures and possibly the bumpers. There’s not much to see of the interior aside from the push start button that sits in the dashboard.

This close relationship is akin to that of the Isuzu D-Max and Mazda BT-50, the latter being based on the former but with its own distinctive design. Nissan says its Navara will have “lot of changes” to set it apart, but we’ll only know precisely what they are next month.

Given that shared architecture, we expect the Navara to feature the Triton’s 2.4 litre inline-four turbodiesel engine that makes as much as 204 PS (201 hp or 150 kW) and 470 Nm of torque. A switch from coil springs at the rear to leaf springs, as per the Triton, is also very likely.
