Penang folks, take note. There will be a full lane closure on the Tun Dr Lim Chong Eu expressway from the Penang Bridge heading to George Town. The full closure and contraflow will be from 10pm to 6am the following day, from June 18-20.
The exact location is described as ‘Line N, CH 1.0 – CH 1.25’ and it’s where The Light is, just before Caltex. All four lanes heading towards George Town will be closed, and there will be a contraflow, so two Penang Bridge-bound lanes will be closed for this purpose.
The lane closure is for the safe dismantling of an overhead pedestrian bridge with special machinery. Drive safe in the area, slow down and follow the signs.
