Proton has begun exporting the eMas 7 to overseas markets, the company revealed in its release that mainly focused on sales performance for the month of February 2025. Despite the car being fully imported (CBU) from China, at least until the local electric vehicle (EV) plant is ready, the export models are indeed shipped from Malaysia.
According to the company, 50 units of the brand’s first EV were shipped to Nepal last month ahead of its launch there. Nepal is one of a few countries that will welcome the eMas 7, as mentioned by the company during the launch of the model in December last year.
Other markets on the list include Mauritius, Singapore as well as Trinidad and Tobago, with a “small number of units” already sent to the last two countries mentioned. Sales of the eMas 7 are expected to start in Singapore in early 2025, as reported previously, with Vincar Group being appointed the official distributor there.
However, the eMas 7 isn’t sold in neighbouring Thailand and Indonesia, which instead get the Proton EV’s twin called the Geely EX5 (known in China as the Geely Galaxy E5). The Galaxy E5 will also go on sale in Australia by mid-2025, with registrations of interest already open there.

Its possible they are already being assembled here which is why exports are happening.
Proton only exports to those small countries that other major car makers don’t even bother to bring their cars there….sigh…
