Zotye T900 – Range Rover skin, Porsche & Merc cabin

Zotye T900 – Range Rover skin, Porsche & Merc cabin

Remember earlier patents of the Zotye T800, the ones that look a whole lot like a Range Rover Sport? Well, you’re looking at the real life version of it, now apparently called the Zotye T900. The company previously copied the Porsche Macan with the T700, but this time it’s upping the ante quite considerably.

What you’re looking at is the real thing, and it’s down to nearly the exact same proportions. It’s hard to say if the dimensions are exactly alike, but the profile view reveals a slightly shorter front end. That’s because under the bonnet rests a tiny 2.0 litre four-cylinder petrol engine that’s turbocharged to produce 230 hp and 350 Nm of torque. It is mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission.

On the inside, things get a little confusing. The flat-bottomed steering wheel looks like it’s been lifted off a Porsche, and the digital instrument cluster and widescreen infotainment display appear similar to the new Mercedes-Benz family. Below that are multiple buttons as well as a rotary gear knob, which presumably raises upon startup, and it even comes with a full-sized panoramic glass roof.

Exterior design-wise, the front and rear of the car look distinctly different from the Range Rover Sport, with a huge hexagonal chromed front grille and Audi Q7-esque rectangular headlights. The rear adopts a more boxy look, and a contoured chrome strip that runs across the tail lights helps accentuate the car’s width. Otherwise, the overall shape and look is very much like the RR.

The Zotye T900 is expected to be launched in China in early 2019, with prices starting from 170,000 yuan (RM103k). Comparatively, the Range Rover Sport is priced from 1.02 million yuan (RM618k).

I would mind it…only for sole reason of kicks and giggles leaving people confused.

Looks like they just went to the world supplies parts bin and picking up parts for it.

Looks like Paultan and Google are in the joke too…. Linking Land Rover carbase and OTO search under Land Rover
