Citroen C5 Aircross interior teased ahead of Shanghai

Citroen C5 Aircross interior teased ahead of Shanghai

Citroen, having revealed the exterior form of its production C5 Aircross last month through a couple of sketches, has released another rendered image of the car ahead of its world debut in Shanghai next week.

This time, the front half of interior takes centre stage, and design highlights include a massive central display screen, a digital instrument cluster as well double air-conditioning vent layout. The wide centre console is home to a start/stop ignition push-button, electronic parking brake and an automatic gear lever reminiscent of that seen on the Peugeot 3008. A rotary selector knob displays five operation mode settings.

No new technical details, aside from the mention that the C5 Aircross will also debut a suspension system equipped with Progressive Hydraulic Cushions, which effectively filters out road imperfections. The technology will be highlighted in Shanghai through a technical demonstration stand at the automaker’s display area.

The C5 Aircross sits on the EMP2 platform, which underpins the new DS7 Crossback. While powertrain choices haven’t been revealed, the C5 Aicross is expected to feature the latter’s range of engines.

These include the familiar Prince 1.6 litre THP turbocharged four-cylinder petrol and a 1.2 litre PureTech turbo petrol three-pot as well as a 1.6 litre BlueHDi turbodiesel, while transmission options should be made up of a six-speed manual and a new eight-speed automatic.

Elsewhere, the automaker confirmed that the production version of the C-Aircross concept – which premiered in Geneva – will officially be called the C3 Aircross. The series production version of the vehicle will be launched before the end of the year.

Citroen is not only dead in Malaysia but also in Europe. People in Europe look down on people who drive Citroen.

Your opinion is so outdated. Right now the French cars are on the rise in Europe. Many people are now buying Peugeot, Citroen, Renault or DS to taste something different rather than the usual ordinary design & style offered by Audi, VW etc. You should update your knowledge about current trends in automotive world.

    • “Citroën reported its highest volume of sales since 2012, with a faster 6% gain in the second half supporting full-year growth of 3% to 731,000 units. Registrations rose by 5% over the year as a whole (including a 7% increase in the second half). Citroën’s sales volumes increased in major markets such as the United Kingdom, Spain, Italy and Germany, thanks to the success of both passenger cars — the C4 Cactus (82,000 units), the new C1 (60,000 units) and the C4 Picasso (113,000 units) — and commercial vehicles, such as the segment-leading new Berlingo.”

PSA is growing by leaps & bounds. If there’s any carmakers that could challenge VW for interior built quality & design, it’s the Frenchies..

Dude whenever I see a driver zooming around in a Citroen I have huge respect and admiration for you guys . Citroen designs are really eccentric . DS5 is a visual feast esp at nights . I drive a Megane RS and waiting for the next RS . Cheers !
