The upcoming Ford Fiesta has been spotted again, now seen wearing less camouflage. In addition to what was visible during the test mules’ earlier sighting, as well as that of the three-door variant, the removal of the cladding around the headlamps serves to confirm that they are now wider and flatter, for a less tall-and-heavy stance common to the B-segment range of passenger cars.
Different versions are seen here, each offering different wheel sizes, front bumper treatments and appearance of the C-pillar area. The front bumper can be seen to include upright air intakes, while the C-pillar should be akin to the design seen on the three-door test mule.
As before, no interior images are available just yet, but the latest SYNC3 infotainment setup for music, navigation and smartphone integration is expected to feature inside the new Fiesta. Also reiterated by our sources are the new, soft-touch materials which are set to replace the current model’s rubberised surfaces (in European-market Fiestas and our Fiesta ST) along with the new SYNC3 setup.
To recap the upcoming Fiesta’s powertrain options, the three-cylinder 1.0 litre EcoBoost petrol engine and 1.5 litre TDCI four-cylinder diesel engine are expected to power the upcoming range, while the current range of 1.25, 1.5 and 1.6 litre four-cylinder, naturally aspirated petrol engines could be phased out.
