Having been introduced in 2011 in its original form, the Opel/Vauxhall Zafira will be given a facelift soon, judging by these pictures of which have surfaced online. The images come from an online configurator, of which the link was sent to AutoEvolution.
From the images, the facelifted Zafira no longer sports a pair of vertical boomerang-shaped headlight and fog light assemblies at the front. Instead, there’s a more conventional set, while the bumper and grille have also been restyled to fit the new look. Elsewhere, there are no other changes. All in all, the facelifted Zafira certainly appears to have carried over some design elements from the new Astra.
Inside, the seven-seater gets greater revisions, including a significantly redesigned dashboard along with a larger multi-info display. It also gets a new three-spoke steering, far fewer buttons and a new infotainment system with a larger screen. The latter is likely the latest IntelliLink from the new Astra, which features GM’s OnStar concierge and emergency service and supports both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
It has yet to be known as to what power options there will be for the facelifted Zafira. However, it is expected to get a new turbocharged 1.4 litre petrol engine as well as a new 1.6 litre diesel mill, both taken from the new Astra. The model is slated to appear some time this year.
