2016 Toyota Innova revealed online in Indonesia!

2016-toyota-innova-indonesia-twitter

Leaked earlier on in brochure form, the 2016 Toyota Innova (or 2016 Toyota Kijang Innova if we’re being all technical) has now been officially revealed on Toyota Indonesia’s Twitter page. Unfortunately, said reveal leans closer to a tease instead as only the front of the car gets pictured.

Aside from that, the accompanying caption states that the new Kijang Innova is “coming soon” to the Indonesian market – will Malaysia follow suit in the near future? To recap, the all-new 2016 Toyota Kijang Innova adopts a bolder-looking front end that sees a section of the grille sectioned off from the rest of the front fascia. A closer look at the leaked brochure scans reveals a fresher taillight design, as well.

What we do know is that the Indonesia-market Innova range will consist of three variants with the G Type kicking things off, the V Type playing the role of the middle child and the Q Type sitting at the very top. As expected, the entry-level G Type is equipped with 16-inch alloy wheels and halogen headlamps – the latter is shared with the V Type. The Q Type gets LED daytime running lights with projector headlights.

On the inside, the entry-level model is equipped with a seven-inch centre infotainment display screen while the V Type as well as the Q Type get a larger eight-inch infotainment display screen, a TFT instrument cluster, LED illumination throughout the cabin and automatic climate control. The Q Type one-ups the V Type by adding on a Smart Entry Key for added driver convenience and wood grain panelling.

Two engine options were quoted in the brochure with customers offered the choice of either a 2.0 litre Dual VVT-i 1TR-FE petrol engine or a 2.4 litre four-cylinder turbodiesel mill. The former pumps out a total of 139 PS at 5,600 rpm and 183 Nm of torque at 4,000 rpm while the latter, 149 PS at 3,400 rpm and 359 Nm from 1,200 to 2,600 rpm – 342 Nm with the five-speed manual. A six-speed automatic transmission is also offered.

2.0 engine only making 139ps 183Nm .. is it enough to pull the car full pack on vacation?
The diesel 2.4 yes it can, but I dont think diesel engine gonna come into Malaysia.
And again… Safety ? no Stability control ?
Why promoting All Auto power windows & 16 inch alloy rim in the brochure? damn funny, no other good points ah ?

      • 1st gen Innova has been available for 10 years in Malaysia. Unser also was only 1.8L.

Where have you been? for Questioning it may be not sufficient of power? It is RWD, it make it good for load Carrying. Pushing is more easy than pulling.

          RWD has more power lost.

Anyway those 2.0L engine is different.

Try and take any paperspec 2.0L Korean engine, put 7 adults + luggage up genting.

RWD,tall yet dont have stability control?
this Innova gross weight about 1670kg
Imagine putting average 50kg adult in all seat + 20-30kg luggage.. total about 2 tonnes,
u sure the 2.0l engine can push it uphill?

not to mention other stuff, TRD bodykits, aftermarket rims, 2.1tonnes

If this car coming to Malaysia, please choose the diesel highest spec variant only.
it got power + stability control.

but I cant imagine its price, maybe 110-120k here , UMW Toyota not giving safety feature cheaply.

If this model ever comes here, I’ve got a great tagline for their ad campaign: “The All New 2016 Toyota Innova………………………..High RV!”

One doesn’t bought a car just to resale it….get it? But for your info, Innova is the 2nd most RV after Honda civic….. if you don’t know anything about it.

Even though this is sarcasm, it has more truth than any VW brochures related to their engine emission output.

Looks decent. A bit of SUV-ish design, much better interior design than our local counterpart. Hopefully it drives like an MPV rather than a van. The first model was rather sluggish and drives awfully like a van on undulating road. At least on the Exora, even though it is still very sluggish, but the handling is great.

Could be a good competitor in the MPV market here if it is priced reasonably.
