It turns out that it’s not just Klang Valley residents that will be stung by the upcoming toll rate hikes – Penang will also be in on it, with the Butterworth Outer Ring Road (BORR) soon making it pricier for island motorists to travel from Prai to Sungai Dua.
Beginning October 15, 2015, Class 1 passenger vehicles using the seaside highway will have to pay RM1.50 at both the Prai and Bagan Ajam toll plazas, up 20 and 30 sen respectively. Those who exit to Sungai Nyior will see a much bigger hike, up to RM1.20 from 50 sen previously.
