Proton has posted a new product video about its latest car, the Proton Iriz, on its Facebook page, highlighting the new B-segment hatchback and its various features and equipment.
As we’ve pointed out in the past, the Iriz is very well-equipped – at least in its highest 1.6 Premium spec – in terms of convenience (auto headlights, LED daytime running lights, keyless entry, push button start), entertainment (6.2-inch touchscreen Android-based infotainment system) and safety (six airbags, standard-fit stability control), all of which the film showcases to full effect.
Proton is currently on a bit of a rise right now – it clawed its way back into second spot in the sales charts in May this year after slipping to fourth place in April. It sold 8,285 units, a 66.7% increase compared to the previous month; while it’s unsure how much of that can be attributed to the Iriz, it probably accounts for quite a bit – we’ve seen quite a number of them on the road in recent months.
So, dear readers, what do you think of this new video, and has the Proton Iriz met your expectations of a Perodua Myvi fighter so far?

Comments generally express positive impressions of the Proton Iriz, praising its design, driveability, safety, and interior upgrades, with some considering it a significant leap for the local brand. However, concerns are raised about the gearbox issues, interior quality, noise insulation, and overall competitiveness with other hatchbacks in the segment. There is also criticism of Proton’s supply chain practices, marketing strategies, and comparisons with foreign brands, but overall, the Iriz is viewed as a commendable model with potential.
