VIDEOS: Sixth-generation Ford Mustang explained

12 Mustang parked

Ford has released a bunch of videos on the new sixth-generation Ford Mustang.

The first video introduces the car and takes us through a few scenes captured during the development process, while the other videos take us through the exterior design, the interior design and the material choices that went into the car.

The right-hand drive Mustang is expected to hit markets sometime in 2015, after production starts in Flat Rock Michigan sometime in 2014. We’re expecting the Mustang to be launched in Malaysia as a halo model, but since it will be CBU from the USA, we do wonder about the price tag.

After watching the videos, two thoughts:

    1. Like the AE86 used to be an affordable sports car, but the new 86 seems to move towards the luxurious side and made it out of reach for most. Does the new mustang’s nice interior and all going to be the same?

    2. Then again, even if it cost more, it’s not going to be the type of car you sell off in 7 years time, you’ll probably pass it to your son or grandson 30-40 years later. It might even see the day the Mustang turns 100.

Finally, an Anerican muscle car icon for Malaysia. Wonder how much the Govt will tax it to protect local cars, what more with another 6% add in GST. Can only dream ….

Looks like Ford has a few distinguished designs across some models now.
I see some similarities with some STs and also the Fusion.
