E60 BMW M5 vs Chrysler 300C SRT8 Video

chrysler_300c_srt8.jpg

Jeremy Clarkson of Top Gear compares the Chrysler 300C SRT8 to the E60 BMW M5. Not a bad comparison I would say, as the Chrysler 300C was based on a previous version of the Mercedes Benz E-Class, now called the Chrysler LX platform. The SRT-8 version features a 6.1 litre Hemi V8 engine making 425hp at 6,200rpm and 569Nm of torque at 4,800rpm. This is the same engine used in most SRT-8 versions, including Dodge and Jeep vehicles.

It’s interesting how the two companies chose to engineer the top of the line performance versions of their mid-sized luxury sedans. The BMW M5 proves to be a real driver’s car – but what about the 300C SRT-8?

The Chrysler 300C doesn't have much grunt to match its jaw protruding looks despite having a 6.1L engine. 6.1L with 420hp vs a 5.0L that produces 507hp. M5 anytime!

Haha!Maybe chrysler 300c should vs M3 first.Even with only 343bhp,the weight ratio of M3 should be able to give chrysler a run.

american care less about tech ,care less about weight, as fuel is no object,

all they care is 'big' or 'mad' interstate cruiser,

Well, I saw a 300C in real before on the road.. it looks nice actually… huge… better than the lines of M5 I think… maybe I'm thinking too old fashion way? anyway, I'm still a fan of BMW. US techs seems to be quite strange… even for a car so huge, the engine still has only single cam.. duh… huge displacement with small power… typical US tech.. but if u like engine roaring sound, go for american cars.. btw… that 300C looks strange when it drift.. hehe.. something like a rolls-royces drifting.. can u imagine a rolls-royce drifting??

not a fair comparison, even though European engines are more efficient and do produce more power than a similar sized American engine the 300c weighs alot more. Jeremy Clarkson just dislikes Americans and will go out of his way to slag off America (I’m English btw and i love topgear but still, i like the 300c) they cant be compared on price…personally i think the chrysler looks like the more expensive car but if price was the case they may aswell have compared it to a ferrari…either way it couldnt win

(aslo i kno it says executive saloon car which a ferrari is not so more along the lines of a v12 merc which is still more than a match.

    thanks x
