The Proton Saga MC3 of the 2025 model year has been recalled for two technical matters, according to a post on the Proton Saga MC3 2025 Facebook group.
The post is of an image of what appears to be a service centre computer terminal, depicting two line items. The first states “software updates for electronic stability control”, and the second states “memo [for] all new Saga replacement of power window”.
The first item regarding the vehicle’s stability control system is self-explanatory, while the second item alludes to the replacement of power window components, without specifying in detail. To reiterate, this is for vehicles of the 2025 model year, which should mean that units produced from the start of this year are unaffected.
Officially, Proton calls this exercise a product improvement and service campaign rather than a safety-related recall. The update on the power window switch is an “improvement to the component, reflecting ongoing product refinement,” and not a defect-related issue.
Launched in November 2025, the Proton Saga MC3 officially launched with three variants – the Standard AT at RM38,990, the Executive AT at RM44,990, and the Premium CVT at RM49,990. All three are powered by a BHE15PFI 1.5 litre four-cylinder naturally aspirated engine, and as the variant names indicate, the Premium gets the stepless CVT transmission, while the Standard and Executive get the four-speed auto.
Built on Proton’s Advanced Modular Architecture (AMA), the Saga MC3 is internally known as the AMA01, indicating that the sedan is the first of a series of models set to emerge from the range. This has been confirmed by Proton, with SUVs and an MPV still to come.
This is made possible by the AMA platform that allows for wheelbase and wheel track widths to be stretched by up to 290 mm, thus enabling the creation of the MPV and SUV derivatives of the Saga of varying sizes.

my Saga FLX first batch too have service recalled after a few months. one of the major relates to rear wheel brake actuator jammed. they changed parts during my routine service.
in fact during first 1k km service there is a proton software guys taking note of user feedback. i reported sudden engine rev during idle while car on inclined… he updated the firmware and i haven’t further encountered this again… he is aware of this characteristic and it seems they are very aware of new release especially first batch… i m impressed at that time and i am still driving the same saga flx .. unmodified.. my tribute to designer and the development team… saga way to go..
Ah …. power window. So classic.
You are not allowed to complaint because
1. of the price
2. Toyota/Honda/Ferrari also got problem (don’t what Toyota/Honda/Ferrari got to do with the problem complaint by the user)
my 15yrs old saga flx don’t have power windows issue in it’s history.. i wonder what had they done to it!.. my Waja, sad case. power windows switch that are rarely used (rear passenger), also rosak. have to change the switch.. all 4 doors switched need replacement. what a history. Wira have mechanical issue, waja have power windows switch issue…
bad technology Inherited from era of proton mitsubishi wira waja power windows mechanical system KEK
It’s been a while since JPJ had issued these cars have recall post?
we knew it all along , its already 2026 still proton has not managed to fix its power windows. also BN managed to fool us all into believing that malaysia would be developed by wawasan2020 and NEP would ceased after boomi equity reached 30%.
As a P2 fan, I already see this happening since the screen shutdown clip surfaced online. Took a while before P1 decided to actually recalled the raw SaGot… time to get the popcorn.
P2 started screwing up the moment they swapped essential features for luxury and comfort since the D27A axia (e.g. an interior better than the king’s instead of using the same money to offer LED headlamps on base spec like the Bezza). Now we are at the peak of that screw up with prince charming (QV-E) and sIgMa trash (the car is engineered complexity, and the commercial even featured a baby doing two hands up down up down double digit movement)
Meanwhile, P1 was a *little* too overconfident after getting Chinese steroids. While they started to beat P2 at *most* of their own game, the complaints (such as the ones I constantly hear from people I know own a Chinese P1) seemed to have fallen on deaf ears, and now here we are… Engineered simplicity suddenly win liao.
Good luck MC3 owners and P1 fans, you might need Tifosi levels of copium soon.
sIgMa = which model ?
Amende ko ni
P2 learnt the hard way, of developing a vehicle from ground up just like P1. P1 so eager to show it’s design and development capabilities that it design cars that don’t sell enough to return a profit. they forgotten the market size does not allow such development and the development cost is way way too big to invest while marketing reach is local malaysia only. u need to have bigger volume to think about fully built new model.
Proton’s relationship with power windows is like a very weird love story.
DRB same bunch of spoilt brat power window vendors..after 40 years..omg…unbelievable.China engine but “kampong’quality local parts.
Only idiot would buy Saga. So new yet so many complaints already in the market.
Do elaborate
proton fanboys will say aiya ok la car so cheap u nak how
Is this new Sage’s power windows using Multi-Code ones? Since Wira time plagued with quality issues.
I’ve always been a h8er of proton malaysia. But this is truly customer service. No local manufacturer does proper recalls and power window also fixed. This is really good. I stand by that x50 is the best value in the market followed by s70
Seem like nobody actually know what they changed during the recall for this power window switches. It actually changed the switch for executive model, now they also get driver auto down function. Before this only Premium users get this function by default.
So first ACTUAL Proton developed (well mostly as part of the base) model in a while, and recalled.
For power window issues, a classic.
