Super Mario Party Jamboree Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Jamboree TV is a huge package, whatever way you look at it. For newcomers looking for a great party game to accompany Mario Kart World, look no further. For owners of the base game, the new content is enjoyable enough to justify the added cost (especially if you have kids). One of the best Mario Party games just got better.
The game is an interesting option for Nintendo Switch 2, with new features that improve the original version. There aren’t many, but the minigames that use the microphone, camera, mouse, and HD Rumble of the new Joy-Con 2 show what the console can do and offer fun moments with friends or alone.
This is basically an expansion pack to the base party game, taking advantage of the mouse, camera, and microphone. Some new modes are fun although we didn't use the microphone much at all. If you like the base game and want more out of it, this is a must buy upgrade!
Perhaps, for reasons of consistency/compatibility with those who don't yet have a Switch 2, Jamboree TV doesn't 'dare' to add too many new minigames, but limits itself to slightly 'revising' the gameplay of existing ones and making a few purely cosmetic additions. The attempt to give the Switch 2 Camera a meaning that isn't just hedonistic for the challengers is commendable, while the Bowser Show part, with its three rhythmic and vocal games in a row, feels like a wasted opportunity. I'm therefore inclined to start from the score that Super Mario Party Jamboree originally received (a solid 9) and make a Solomonic average based on what I would have given to the update alone (7.8), for a total of…
There's no getting around it: Super Mario Party Jamboree - Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Jamboree TV is the best way to enjoy the latest iteration of the party franchise featuring the heroic plumber in overalls. The base game returns in its complete version, enhanced by the Jamboree TV expansion, which dramatically increases the amount of content included in the package. Not all of the new features seemed particularly impressive, but all things considered, it's still one of the best party games on the market.
Outside of the Switch 2 Welcome Tour app, Jamboree TV is the most comprehensive demonstration of the Switch 2’s capabilities we’ve seen yet. The mic, the camera, and the mouse controls are all thoroughly incorporated into the game. I had a harder time with some systems, but I can still grasp what Nintendo is reaching for here. Children and the similarly flexible/exuberant will latch onto the Bowser Live segment, while crustier gamers (such as myself) will appreciate the Carnival Coaster. Honestly, there’s a good chance you’ll love all of it, even if I didn’t. If you’re looking to dive into the latest generation of Mario Party games, the Jamboree TV Switch 2 bundle is the perfect way to do so.
This upgraded edition features sharp 4K visuals and makes smart use of Switch 2 hardware like the camera and Joy-Con 2. New modes such as Bowser Live and Carnival Coaster are fun but feel more like tech demos due to their lack of depth. The core Mario Party gameplay is still strong, with new team-based and chaos-driven rule sets adding variety. It's a great choice for newcomers, but returning players may find limited value without full hardware support.
Jamboree TV offers some more and varied uses of the Switch 2's unique features with a charming game show format that will be fun for breaking out at parties. Its new content, however, doesn't integrate with the base game and makes for an awfully pricey package if you don't already own the original game.
If you guys are wondering why the user average rating is this low it is mainly because that this is Mario party's first ever time getting an actual DLC! In my honest opinion it was well done although I do agree with the other people that are saying it should have been inside the game and not just making it so then it looks like another game entirely. What I would have done is put a building with the thing saying "Jamboree TV" or make the carnival coaster and Bowser Live 2 new buildings and put the things that add to the existing modes in Jamboree in to their respective mode, and also improving the graphics for all of the modes because man don't the characters look very good with the new graphics. Anyways I do must say though I do like the expansion which I can already tell most people will not (I got the upgrade pack by the way).
Honestly, I don’t understand why Nintendo didn’t expand on Bowser Live! It would’ve been brilliant if it turned into a full Jamboree or became special spaces on the boards. Even if they didn’t add it to the boards, they could have developed it more—three rounds is just ridiculous. The new mini-games are really fun, but again, Nintendo missed a lot of opportunities here! Why not add a new board? The only thing that makes me try to understand Nintendo’s decision is the possibility that they’re preparing a new Mario Party with these new camera and sound features in a future release.Other than that, the DLC boils down to the 11 new mini-games and the new Duo and Final Sprint modes, which are actually quite **** rating is a 6. This DLC had so much potential!
Absolutely not worth it for $20. The graphical updates are not for the whole original game, and the only cool new mode added is the team based mode, everything else is garbage.
This should have been a free update or $10 maximum.
What they tell you is that the switch 2 version has improved framerate and resolution, BUT what they don't tell you is that the only part of the game getting these upgrades is Party mode through separately playable Jamboree TV. That's it - everything else is in the original NS state - for 80 dollars.
SummarySuper Mario Party Jamboree is getting even more minigames and an upgrade on Nintendo Switch 2! The upgrade expands on the base game and adds Nintendo Switch 2 gameplay features, such as mouse controls, enhanced rumble, sound recognition, and modes that use a camera accessory (sold separately).
