Split Fiction is a perfect game, I can’t put it any other way. Whether you’re talking about the incredible world-building, great central narrative or expertly designed levels, there’s not a foot Split Fiction puts wrong. Constantly keeping its gameplay fresh and bombarding you with new and exciting adventures, Split Fiction champions itself on being a wonderful time, and one you (and your gaming partner) deserve to experience.
Josef Fares' biggest project to date puts him among the industry's biggest names as a developer we should keep an eye on. After the 2021 GOTY, the Swedish-Lebanese has outdone himself with a project that once again shows his growth as a creative mind. Split Fiction may not reach the trophies that its predecessor won, but it will end 2025 as many people's favorite game.

The best two-player experience I’ve had this year — without a doubt, it’s one of the most creative and nostalgic games to hit the market. Josef Fares does an incredible job of building rich and unique universes that transport you to those childhood fantasy films, while also creating games that make you truly connect with the person playing next to you.

With Split Fiction, Hazelight consolidates its position as the king of the co-op game with grander, stranger and downright dizzying gameplay situations. While film and game history is celebrated with the utmost sincerity, you experience an adventure with two players that you will definitely not forget. A must play for anyone who can't get enough of (couch) co-op, but actually everyone should free up fourteen hours to experience this. A big fat Gold award.
Split Fiction is an amazing game, and it is akin of any kids first visit to a candy store. It is crammed full of new ideas, new gameplay mechanics, bigger and shinier levels, but somehow along the way it’s lost a part of its soul and along with it some of the appeal It Takes Two had. Don’t get me wrong, it is a very good game, and I cannot recommend it enough, but the characters and the flow of the gameplay seem to have been misplaced among all the new things the developer throws at you. For me, this is a split experience.
A co-operative marvel, Split Fiction is a creative explosion that takes us on a journey through incredible imaginary worlds and constantly renews its gameplay mechanics. A must-have to share with your best gaming partner.
Overall, Split Fiction exceeded our expectations when it came to co-op action-puzzling — we just wished the story had more nuance and depth. If Hazelight Studios were to focus the same level of attention to both gameplay and writing, their narratives could serves to be more than vehicles to experience their action through, and that would be something like no other. However, even as it is, Split Fiction remains something special and one of the best cooperative experiences out there.
Split Fiction is hokey, muddled, and needlessly self-defeating. It’s also lively, inventive, and so earnest that it’s hard to be mad at it for long. These aren’t opposing forces that tear Hazelight’s latest apart; the clumsiness is inseparable from the delight. Both are born from the ambitious vision of artists who still believe in the magic of creativity and are willing to take big swings in its honor. Sometimes it absolutely whiffs. We all do. Fail again. Fail better. But it’s those moments where it connects, where simple ideas turn into unforgettable spectacle, that remind us why art can’t be automated. Even the most advanced machine can never dream bigger than a human with a heart.

Très bon jeu à faire en coop local ! Le jeu offre une durée de vie raisonnable, les graphismes sont au rendez-vous, et le gameplay est très réussi !
Les énigmes sont bien équilibrées, la difficulté a été légèrement relevée depuis son grand frère It Takes Two. L’univers est agréable à découvrir : la fantasy et la sf se mêlent bien et certaines histoires annexes sont particulièrement réussies.
Quand le jeu perd un peu de sa saveur c’est dans l’histoire qui, selon moi, est trop basique. L’histoire est très conventionnelle même si elle aborde des sujets variés et qui sont bien amenés. Néanmoins pour des écrivaines le scénario est un peu faible.

The kid didn’t want to play it. I basically had to "force" him to get through half the game, even though he was doing pretty well. I even skipped all the cutscenes because he found them boring. Ended up deleting it and putting it up for sale.
Funny thing is, he’s been bugging me for years asking when the It Takes Two sequel would come out. Now he’s like: "I was just asking, didn’t mean I actually wanted to play it."

But me and my friend are finding this really boring, and we decided to return it to amazon

In simple words, it's boring!
There are a few fun moments and ideas and mechanics but not enough. 80 percent of game is repetitive and boring.
Me and my gf played it and it was such a drag, we just wanted it to end sooner. Games like cuphead and even it2 are way better and entertaining than this one.
It's like it is designed only for non gamers and people who have never seen any motorbike sequence, dragon riding, sword play and ... in any game.
Story is straight up bad, characters are unlikeable and shallow and we got no connection with them. At least it2 character interactions were funny.
World is soooo empty and you have nothing to explore and do. It2 had some semi open maps with lots of fun stuff.
Puzzles are sooo easy and repetitive. There isn'tany challenge or excitement. It2 was easy as well. But at least had enough diversity in ideas, not to get bored.
There are no original gameplay ideas before the last 2 hrs of game which is a bit fun. All gameplay mechanics are so easy, shallow and underwhelming.
