Hades is a roguelike action RPG developed and published by Supergiant Games. It set a new bar for roguelike games with amazing visuals, character development, and storyline. Hades does have a few minor issues that plague most roguelikes. But these don’t impact the overall experience of an amazingly great game.
Hades is everything a dungeon-crawler fan could want out of a game. Its gameplay loop is rewarding and interesting, it's simple enough that there's no skill barrier, it's complex enough that the repetition is a benefit and not a detriment, and all the small details boost the bigger ones. Hades is ultimately the result of when every aspect of a game comes together to form one fun and cohesive experience, and it's a testament to what Supergiant Games can do.
One of the easiest games to recommend ever. This game was in early access for a long time, and received many updates and changes with the feedback of a large playtesting community, and it shows so well. The gameplay is genuinely so addicting and well-made, that conceptually i feel like i have some problems with this game that became irrelevant because its so enjoyable. Wonderful artstyle, music, characters, and story as well, but overall i will always remember this game for the sheer amount of fun it never ceases to be. Appeals to a massively broad audience and is near-universally adored.
Genuinely one of my all time favourite experiences both in the rogue-like gaming space and in the game industry in general. The game's presentation was otherwordly good. The soundtrack is immediately memorable and the visuals were a delight to look at. The gameplay was an absolute joy to experience. The Rogue-like mechanics on top of the Hack and slash battle system was incredibly satisfying.
I've beat the game 10 times already, and have finished the main story campaign. Apparently though, there's a lot you could do, I.E a bunch of post-game content. But i already blew 37 hours into the the game, I understand how quality this title is.
Hades stands not only as the finest, most well-crafted game from the exceedingly talented developers at Supergiant but as one of the pinnacles of the genre. If you never looked at rogue-likes seriously before due to differences in personal tastes and what you believe that they represent, this might be the very title to change your mind.
Supergiant Games has done it again. They have managed to perfectly mix amazing
storytelling and great action to create another compelling title. Even if you are not a
fan of roguelikes you should definitely try Hades out - it’s a challenge, it has a great
story, and it’s a hell of a ride.
Live. Die. Repeat. Hades is almost immaculate and with that the makers of Bastion, Transistor and Pyre deliver their best game yet – which is a feat in itself. With its brilliant fight system, the motivating progress and its story Hades pulls and, more importantly, keeps you in.
There’s around eight different forms of in-game currency alone, and enough upgrades and modifiers to give even Euclid a headache trying to track all the variables. However once you fall under Hades’ spell after a couple of runs the near limitless combinations of character builds becomes bewitching.
The game that made me love the rogue-like genre. The story is interesting, but it's not a game to play for the story. Unbeatable in terms of gameplay. The reason is simply this: There are 6 different weapons you can use in the game. Although you play basically the same game in each run, the game evolves into something completely different depending on the weapon you choose. Each weapon has different variations, even your gameplay has to change according to the different variations of the same weapon. This keeps you in the game. I beat the game 100% and still playing.
I'll preface this review and say that I am aware that this is a way better game than my review implies, it's just that it didn't click for me fully.
Great design, great characters, great combat, and well pretty much everything that is to be expected at this point from Supergiant.
My issue was that I don't like beating a roguelike 200 times and the story relies on you beating the game over and over and over again. I just felt like after a few wins I didn't have that much of an incentive to truly experiment with builds or weapons
Повна відсутність балансу) якщо прийшли за челенджем, то його тут не знайдете. Але гарна картинка, цікава історія і дуже динамічний геймплей свою справу роблять.
The RNG in this game can either benefit you or screw you over. If the latter you may as well just quit because you aren't going to be able to do anything. Actually the opposite of fun when that happens. Super overrated.
I read a lot of good reviews so i thought i'd take a shot but i wouldn't recommend it for fun.
It's to addictive and it pushes it on you aggressively.
It's repetitive and you get to a point where the fun is replaced with being annoyed.
It's a extreme grind fest and the buffs dont seem to do anything as a certain point.
It will give you RSI this thing is a massive button mash i don't think i've ever felt like my hands were this sore in a long, long time.
It's very hard to master the difficulty of this thing is very hard I didn't play demon souls because it was rumored to be terribly hard but this didn't have the same notoriety it should be warned that if you want variety you won't find it here.
The story is not so rewarding I don't know what I'm suppose to do in this game. Escaping the underworld isn't as rewarding as you would think.
It's like demon souls which I really didn't understand either and didn't attempt.
Maybe if I was younger I'd love it more.
SummaryDefy the god of death as you hack and slash your way out of the Underworld in this rogue-like dungeon crawler from the creators of Bastion and Transistor.
