Email Links with One Click
- When you're visiting a web page you'd like to share, click the Email Link button at the far right of the Location Bar.
- Flock will automatically open your default email program and insert the link into a message. (For help setting up your default email or Webmail program, go here.)
Set Up Your Online Photo Account in Flock
- Open Flock, and log in to your online photo account. If you don't have an online photo account, but would like to create one, we recommend these popular, Flock-supported services:
- Flickr
- Piczo
- Photobucket
- Picasa
- For a complete, updated list of services that Flock supports please visit our website.
- If you've logged in to a service that Flock supports, like Facebook or Flickr for example, the People Sidebar will open automatically. You may also be prompted to confirm that you want Flock to remember this account. Click Remember Account if you want Flock to retain your account information for automatic access the next time you open Flock.
Note: This is different than telling Flock to remember just your password, because this includes remembering your contacts etc. Depending on how you've logged in, even if you aren't prompted, Flock will likely still remember your account information, unless you click Forget Account in the Accounts and Services Sidebar (see below). - Your Profile Card associated with that account will appear in the People Sidebar, along with the Profile Cards for your contacts.
- That's it, you're now ready to upload pictures (see below)! Click the Accounts and Services Sidebar key icon, or choose View > Sidebar > Accounts and Services from the menu to confirm that your account information has been saved in the My Accounts section.
- The green circle indicates that you are logged in to the account.
- Click Log Out if you wish to log out from the account.
- Click Forget Account if you wish to delete all record of the account from Flock.
Note: Clicking Forget Account simply removes the account from Flock's active tracking; it in no way affects the status of your account with the service provider, e.g. your actual Flickr account is not affected in any way. Also note that it may say Remember Account here if you did not use one of Flock's pre-configured links to the website; you must therefore click Remember Account if you want Flock to retain the details of this account.

Edit and Upload Pictures Using the Photo Uploader
- Open Flock's Photo Uploader by clicking the up-arrow icon in the Flock Toolbar, selecting Tools > Photo Uploader from the menu, or in Windows pressing CTRL+SHIFT+U.
- In the Photo Uploader, click the Choose Photos button or select File > Choose Photos from the Photo Uploader menu.
- Navigate to the folder on your computer where you keep your photos.
- Click on one or more folders or photos to select them, and click Open.
Tip: You can also add photos to the uploader by simply dragging the photos from a folder on your computer into the grey Uploading Clipboard area. - Select any picture in the Uploading Clipboard and it will appear in the Photo Editor.
- Drag your mouse across the picture in the Photo Editor and then click Crop to cut part of the picture out.
- Click the Rotate arrows to rotate the picture.
- Click Revert to remove any edits you've made.
- Click the Remove button on the Photo Uploader menu if you no longer want to upload the picture.
- After finishing your edits, type a title, description, and any tags you want to apply to the photo. If multiple photos are selected, the text you type is applied to all of the selected photos, or you can click the Batch tab and type text to apply to the entire group of photos you're uploading.
- Choose the Privacy levels you wish to apply.
- When you're done preparing all of your photos, click the arrow next to the Upload button to select the account from the drop-down menu to which you want to upload.
- Click Upload.
- In the Upload Options dialog, select any other preferred settings like photo resizing and album name, and click Upload again.
Note: These setting options may differ with different services. - Depending on the number and size of photos, your computer's speed, your internet connection, and the particular website, uploading could take anywhere from seconds to minutes. When complete, Flock will give you the option of viewing your newly-uploaded photos in the Media Bar.

Drag and Drop Share - Practically Anything!
- Find a picture, video, article or just about anything while you're surfing the web.
- Click on, select and drag some of this text, this picture, a thumbnail of the video from the Media Bar, or whatever it is. Now you've got options!
- Drop it directly onto a friend's Profile Card in the People Sidebar. The text or image will be automatically pasted into a message addressed to this contact, along with a link. If it's a video, just the link and thumbnail, not the entire video, will be pasted. (To learn more about working with the People Sidebar, see Bring Your Social Network Together.)
- Drop the thumbnail just about anywhere else: into a web-based email like Yahoo mail, a comment forum, a Flickr message etc. If it's a Flock-supported service, there's a good chance the image itself will be automatically pasted in. Otherwise, Flock may paste only the link to the image. In other cases, Flock may paste the HTML code for that part of the web page or, unfortunately, paste nothing at all. We're working on it!
- Drop the thumbnail (or source image) into the Web Clipboard for easy saving and sharing later with your contacts through emails, blogs, forums etc (see below).

Use the Web Clipboard for Instant Saving and Sharing
- Open the Web Clipboard Sidebar by clicking the clipboard icon on the Flock Toolbar, selecting View > Sidebar > Web Clipboard or Tools > Web Clipboard from the menus, or pressing CTRL+SHIFT+C.
- This opens the Web Clipboard Sidebar.
- You now have options!
- As you're surfing the web, select, drag and drop portions of any text you like into the Web Clipboard.
- Click on any picture you like and drap and drop it into the Web Clipboard.
- Click on any picture or video you like in the Media Bar or on a Flock-supported video service, and drag it into the Web Clipboard.
Tip: Right-click (CTRL-click on Mac) on the text or picture and select Send to Web Clipboard from the drop-down menu to save without opening the Web Clipboard. - In the Web Clipboard Sidebar, each saved item will have its own frame and description. This gives you more options.
- Click View to see what you've saved in more detail.
- Click Delete to remove any clipping you've saved.
- Click Blog to insert the clipping into your blog posting. (To learn about setting up your blog in Flock, see Activate and Manage Blogs.)
Note: Text and pictures will appear "as is" in your blog post. A video will be embedded into the blog post. - Click Email to send to your desktop mail client or webmail (depending on which you have chosen as default under Options > Advanced > Sharing).
- Drag and drop any clipping from the Web Clipboard into a web-based email like Yahoo Mail or Hotmail, into forums, or into messages on websites like Facebook or Piczo.
Note: If Flock runs into problems trying to drop clippings into certain programs or services, particularly those not supported by Flock, you may see a link or the full HTML code being pasted instead. - Click the folder icon at the top right of the Web Clipboard Sidebar to create folders for better organizing of your clippings, then drag and drop clippings into the folders.
- Click the Delete All button to remove all your clippings at once.
