Visualize your data with Copilot in Excel

With Copilot in Excel, it's easy to visualize your data by highlighting, sorting, and filtering to quickly call attention to what matters to you.

Highlight, sort, and filter your data

  1. Open Excel.

  2. Make sure to format your data in a table or supported range for Copilot.

  3. Select the Copilot  small image of the Copilot icon.​​​​​​​ button in the ribbon.

  4. Tell Copilot how you'd like to see your data. You can type in your own words or try one of the example prompts.

  5. Copilot tells you in the chat pane how it will highlight, sort, and filter your data.

  6. Select Apply to view the changes in your sheet.

Highlight, sort, and filter your data with prompts like:

Document with sparkles Bold the top 10 values.

Document with sparkles Highlight the lowest values in units sold.

Document with sparkles Sort engagement rate from lowest to highest.

Document with sparkles Sort names alphabetically.

Document with sparkles Filter to show items that are due next week.

Document with sparkles Show me only items that have a value greater than 100.
