How do I report if I believe another app is impersonating my app?
We take impersonation seriously. You can always flag an app for review on Google Play using this process.
How do I report if I believe another app is distributing content or media I have the rights to own, without the license to do so?
If you believe an app on Google Play violates your intellectual property rights, such as copyrights or trademark rights, you can notify us using our reporting process for copyright, trademark, or other legal issues. Make sure to use the correct reporting form, as incorrect submissions may delay or prevent processing.
What is the difference between Trademark, Copyright, and Impersonation policies?
Please consult your own legal counsel to understand the differences between trademark and copyright, or to understand the scope of your intellectual property rights.
The Impersonation Policy governs how developers display apps on the Play Store and prohibits developers from misleading users about an app’s connection to someone else (for example, another developer, company, entity) or another app. If you believe an app on the Play Store is misleading users in this way, but you do not own or are not asserting intellectual property rights over the content in question, you can report that to Google Play using this process.
