And now, in Venom: The Last Dance, the trilogy comes to a close. If Sony is to be believed, this is the final outing for Hardy’s Eddie Brock. There’s just one problem. We never got a Spider-Man/Venom team-up.Why didn’t Spider-Man and Venom ever directly cross paths in these movies? The Marvel character, who originated in the pages of the Spider-Man comics, has grown from villain to anti-hero in the years since, with Tom Hardy's Venom proving that he the symbiote can carry his own franchise.And now, with the new Venom sequel arriving in theaters, we spoke to the stars and director of the film about what the end of Eddie Brock's story looks like. 9 months, 1 week - Venom: The Last Dance, reviewed by Tom Jorgensen.If this is truly the last dance, then things end for Venom much as they began: with a mostly boring superhero story occasionally elevated by a jittery Jekyll-and-Hyde performance from Tom Hardy. Venom: The Last Dance is torn between its responsibilities to big-budget comic book moviemaking and a more-focused genre story of a boy and his alien. The threat Knull poses from afar often steals the movie’s focus to disappointing results, but there’s still some fun to be had on this freaky ride into the sunset – largely courtesy of the toothy, titular symbiote. Lackluster action and new additions that distract from the unique relationship at the franchise’s heart suggest it’s past time to send this Venom horse to the glue factory. Hopefully we get something back that sticks a little more.

9 months, 2 weeks - In today's Fix of entertainment news:Joker 2 has claimed a new record: biggest second week drop for a comic book movie in cinema history (so far). Joker: Folie à Deux, as it's officially titled, made a miniscule $7 million at the U.S. box office this weekend, an 81% drop from its opening weekend of $37.8 million. On the other hand, indie slasher hit Terrifier 3 was #1 at the domestic box office, earning $18.2 million. In other news, Venom: The Last Dance will be Marvel villain Knull's first live-action cinematic outing, and it won't be the last. This may (or may not be) the final Venom film starring Tom Hardy, but expect to see more of Knull in the future.Presented by Universal Orlando Resort.

10 months, 4 weeks - We got our first look at the Minecraft movie, and there’s a lot to parse out here for Minecraft fans. The opening shot of the trailer features some sort of portal, not quite sure what type of portal it is. Definitely different from a Nether or End Portal, unless the movie is reinterpreting the portals in another way. And then we see glimpses of Overworld! You see small towns, villages, mountains, a pink sheep, and the villainous Piglins! Everything looks like it was run through RTX, enhancing all the textures and fidelity. Take a look at the Piglins, because it seems as if they’ll be one of the main antagonists in the film, causing all kinds of havoc. Piglins are monstrous creatures who dwell in the Nether, which is an underworld filled with all sorts of monsters. They likely won’t bother you in-game if you have full gold armor. In fact, they’ll allow you to mine gold if you’re wearing it, and get that Gold Rush buff on. The Piglins seem to have chained up those Ghast creatures. Ghasts are large floating jellyfish ghosts you encounter in the Nether who shoot fireballs at you. It’s kinda weird to see the Ghasts and Piglins, along with the Piglin Brutes, just running amuck in the Overworld. #TheMinecraftMovie is shaping up to be something special for #Minecraft fans, and with these #MinecraftMovie easter eggs on display fans have a lot to look forward to.
