Nintendo Switch 2 is the eighth dedicated home console gaming platform from Nintendo, and the second hybrid home and handheld device following the Nintendo Switch. The Nintendo Switch released on June 5th, 2025 for the retail price of $449.99 USD, and a $499.99 USD bundle that includes Mario Kart World.
While it remains similar in size, shape, and features to the Nintendo Switch, the Nintendo Switch 2 boasts many upgraded features, including the ability to play games in docked mode at 4K resolution with HDR, and can reach 120fps for certain games. It can also be played in handheld mode at 1080p 60fps.

The Nintendo Switch 2 not only boasts backwards compatibility with nearly all original Nintendo Switch games, but will also include upgraded Nintendo Switch 2 Editions of certain games like Breath of the Wild, Tears of the Kingdom, Metroid Prime 4: Beyond, and more. In addition, Nintendo has already announced several exclusive first and third-party games coming to the Nintendo Switch 2 that include Mario Kart World, Donkey Kong Bananza, and From Software's The Duskbloods.
