Universal Studios' Halloween Horror Nights: Fallout Announcement Teaser Trailer

1 month, 4 weeks - For the first time ever, horror fans will step into the post-apocalyptic wasteland of Prime Video’s “Fallout,” in an all-new terrifying haunted house at Universal Studios’ Halloween Horror Nights. The unimaginable terror becomes a reality starting Friday, August 29 at Universal Orlando Resort and Thursday, September 4 at Universal Studios Hollywood. Based on the award-winning global video game franchise from Bethesda Game Studios, “Fallout” was a critically acclaimed hit with audiences worldwide when it debuted on Prime Video in 2024. The cinematic series is set in the year 2296, two hundred years after a nuclear war destroyed civilization. All that is left is an eradicated and highly violent hellscape known as The Wasteland crawling with mutated animals and creatures, while gentle citizens take refuge underground in luxury fallout shelters known as Vaults. In this terrifying haunted house, fans will encounter iconic scenes and characters that will put them into the frightening action of the popular series. The journey begins beneath the surface in Vault 33, where guests follow vault-dweller Lucy MacLean as she escapes a bloody massacre, only to discover an evil hidden secret. From there, visitors venture to the surface, where they must dodge attacks from Scavengers and Raiders, desperate survivors who will do anything to remain alive, as well as mutated cockroaches known as RAD Roaches. As guests travel through the hellish Wasteland, they will go through iconic locations like the Super Duper Mart and encounter The Ghoul, an ageless bounty hunter who has endured radiation exposure for centuries. Additionally, they will come face-to-face with a young squire named Maximus and gaze in awe at his T-60 armor. With frightful terrors at every turn of the eerily authentic haunted house, fans will question if they can ever escape the horrors of The Wasteland.

GTA 4 Needs a Remaster, Says Ex-Rockstar Dev - IGN Daily Fix

2 months, 2 weeks - In today's Daily Fix:Grand Theft Auto 6 won't be gracing our consoles until 2026, but what if we had another GTA to hold us over? That's what former Rockstar technical director Obbe Vermeij is suggesting when asked about the rumors of a GTA 4 remaster. With the Oblivion remaster selling well (despite performance problems on all platforms), Rockstar could port GTA 4 to a more modern engine and let us roam around Liberty City before hitting up Vice City in GTA 6. Rockstar has not announced anything officially, but "insiders" are suggesting otherwise. In other news, Stellar Blade will be the next Sony-published game landing on PC next month. The new version will feature new outfits and a new boss to fight (those things are also likely to make their way to the PS5 version, as well). And finally, Prime Video's Fallout will drop its second season this December, and a third will be in production sometime after that.

Oblivion Shows Remakes Could Be Key to Bethesda Getting Back on Track

3 months - The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered is here, and it’s a hit, showing players are more than happy to make return trips to some of Bethesda’s older open worlds, in case that wasn’t readily apparent based on how many people bought Skyrim more than once. But this is good news! Bethesda Game Studios’ last original open-world RPG outing was Starfield, which was certainly ambitious, but didn’t quite have players over the moon with joy. Before that was Fallout 76, which has since sorted itself out, but only after a very rough launch. The Elder Scrolls VI is still years away, and Fallout 5 even further out than that, so perhaps more remakes like Oblivion are the answer to stoke the fires of Bethesda fandom, and help build anticipation for the next installments in these storied series. A Fallout 3 Remake (or remaster) has been all-but-confirmed, and if that’s possible, an overhauled New Vegas would be welcomed with open arms. Meanwhile, giving The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind a remaster of the same quality as Oblivion would be a major undertaking, so what’re the alternatives?

Every Bethesda Game Studios RPG, Ranked

3 months - The explosive popularity of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered has us once again debating which of Bethesda Game Studios’ role playing games is the best? Some have shown their age more than others, but they’re all genuinely unique in their own way, and bring something different to the table, so we put our heads together to pick a definitive clear cut champion. From the early days of Tamriel in The Elder Scrolls: Arena and its shockingly ambitious sequel, The Elder Scrolls II: Daggerfall, and through the modern installments we all know and love like Morrowind and Skyrim, to Bethesda’s more futuristic offerings, Fallout 3, Fallout 4, and Fallout 76, plus the most recent addition of Starfield. It sounds like we may very well see a Fallout 3 Remastered or Remake before The Elder Scrolls VI sees the light of day, and Fallout 5 is still a long long way off, so hopefully this list is as future proof as a radiation-resistant underground vault. No matter what, there’ll surely be plenty of debate over the top three. But hey, even though it wasn’t technically Bethesda, at least we gave New Vegas some love.

Ubisoft's Xdefiant Will Shut Down in 2025, Along With 2 Entire Studios - IGN Daily Fix

7 months, 4 weeks - In today's Daily Fix:More bad news from Ubisoft to close out the year. The company has decided to shut down its free-to-play shooter XDefiant—despite positive impressions from the game's fans and the media, there just weren't enough people playing to justify the cost of keeping the game running. And with the game's shutdown comes the closure of two studios working on it. Ubisoft's San Francisco and Osaka studios have been closed, with nearly 300 people being laid off. Ubisoft is hoping to boune back from a disappointing year with Assassin's Creed Shadows in 2025. In other news, Walton Goggins is putting the Ghoul skin back on for season 2 of Fallout. The actor shared an image on Instagram with him and a make-up artist layering on his character's irradiated skin. No release date is set yet for Fallout Season 2. And finally, Reebok has revealed new shoes to coincide with the new Sonic the Hedgehog movie. There will be two child-sized shoes and three adult shoes in Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles colorways.
