Managed User Endpoints

Overview

Foursquare's Managed User Endpoints, when used with the Placemaker Endpoints enable customers to collect and submit valuable feedback on our comprehensive places data. Leveraging the Managed User Endpoints, customers create white-labeled "managed users" for their application users, eliminating the need for explicit Foursquare accounts and ensuring a seamless experience.

Beyond white-labeling, managed users allow Foursquare to calibrate each contributor's quality. This means higher-quality edits are processed faster, rewarding good actors and preventing less reliable submissions from impeding valuable contributions. This system maintains the integrity and accuracy of Foursquare's places data by prioritizing trusted sources.

Once managed users are created, call Placemaker APIs authenticated on behalf of your users to provide structured feedback on places including attribute edits, closures, duplicates, and more.
