Good news for those who are planning to balik kampung via rail this Hari Raya Aidilfitri. KTM has added 26 more train trips from March 17-29 to fulfil high demand for the festive season. The company says that it’s a proactive move as tickets for the period are almost sold out.
Of the total, 18 trips are for the ETS and eight are EMUPlus services. All in, there will be 8,118 extra seats a day, including Business Class seats, for a total of 105,534 extra seats. Overall, there will be 285,714 seats across 70 daily services over the Raya period, with an average of 21,978 seats a day. The extra seats are for:

KTM says that seats for 10 of the extra services went on sale on sale from noon yesterday (March 1), and the rest will be open for sale in the near future. The schedule for the 10 extra ETS trains are as follows:
Meanwhile, there will be a special Ekspres Lambaian Aidilfitri (ELA) edisi Pantai Timur operating on March 18 from KL Sentral – Tumpat and March 22 for the return Tumpat – KL Sentral trip. For this service, 792 tickets are being offered including sleeping berths. Each train has 120 beds (RM90 upper, RM95 lower) in addition to Kelas Premier (RM80) dan Kelas Superior (RM95) seats.
There’s more. The ELA edisi Utara special train will have trains going north from March 17-22 and trains coming back to KL from March 18-23. 1,200 Kelas Superior tickets will be offered for RM70 one way. Tickets can be purchased on the KITS Style app, KTM’s website or kiosks at certain stations.
