Schedules for Keretapi Tanah Melayu‘s (KTM) Komuter services between Kuala Lumpur and Seremban will be reworked to cut wait times and shorten journeys, transport minister Anthony Loke has said, according to a Bernama report.
“Travel from Seremban to Kuala Lumpur experiences delays. Many commuters report journeys taking one hour 45 minutes, and sometimes up to two hours. The slowdowns are due to ongoing track upgrades along the route. Some sections are reduced to a single track, affecting train flow and schedule reliability,” Loke said, adding that discussions to improve services will take place after Chinese New Year.
Seremban railway station is being upgraded to better integrate with the adjacent upcoming Seremban Sentral hub. This has caused some inconvenience to passengers, and Loke, also Seremban MP, appealed for the public’s understanding.
“We are doing our best, but the new station is expected to take another year to complete. We hope it will provide greater comfort for Seremban commuters,” he said, adding that the Klang Valley Double Track Electrification Phase 2 (KVDT2) project is on track.
“The project is inherently challenging because work must be carried out on active tracks. While work is done on one track, trains continue running on the other. Safety considerations limit the time machinery can be on the tracks each day, which naturally slows construction,” he explained.

Is Anthony Loke transport minister of KL-Seremban? If so please resign NOW and go become KL-seremban minister!!!
If KTM is smart, instead of 6 cars train every 30 minutes, split into 2 sets of trains of 3 cars per every 15 minutes, especially during peak hours. That will work to reduce crowd congestion at stations.
And also every now and then during peak hours make available journeys that only stop at main stations – Seremban, Kajang, UKM, KL Sentral.
How? Well the KTM people have experts working in the rail industry for decades. If they don’t know how to squeeze the schedule, ask them to resign and go fly kite.
I will take the job.
Agreed
It was stated in the article that part of the issue stems from certain sections of the KL–Seremban line being single-tracked. Such bottlenecks present significant challenges in scheduling higher service frequencies.
Oh, on a closely related issue, this raises the question of which party decided to revise the ECRL from double track to single track.
Anthony Loke mentri transport of KL Seremban kah? Why all the money & upgrades go to there, other states no need ke?
How do u claim to be rakyat Malaysia when u don’t even know that KL & Seremban are part of Malaysia? That’s why the transport minister of Malaysia can make authorized statements about railway transportation between KL & Seremban. Looks like u have run out solid reasons to criticize & therefore u had to twice make similar childish comments.
I guess his decision of cancelling the project back in 2018 (although it has since been resumed) backfires spectacularly for all of us.
Actually, the project was never cancelled in 2018 (after GE14) as PM7 wanted only to change to another contractor who can do the job at a lower cost, and in the following year, the original contractor was reappointed after successfully renegotiating to reduce cost by 15%. However, after PM8 took over, he wanted to replace the contractor again which resulted in a lawsuit by the original contractor. Later, almost 6 months after PM9 had taken over, the case was settled out of court, and the project continued on even after GE15.
