Proton has announced it delivered a total of 3,276 eMas cars to customers in the month of January 2026, which averages out to over 100 units a day.
According to data from the road transport department (JPJ), 8,890 Proton electric vehicles (EVs) were registered in 2025. With the January 2026 result, the brand is roughly 36.9% on its way to meeting last year’s sales total. It’s also worth noting last month’s figure nearly triples the 1,106 units reported for December 2025 (the sub-brand’s best single-month result last year).
The eMas 7 has been well received since its launch in December 2024, making up the large majority of Proton’s EV sales in 2025. Next came the eMas 5 in October 2025, while the locally-assembled (CKD) version of the eMas 7 went on sale this month with a spec upgrade and lower pricing compared to the fully-imported (CBU) version sold previously.
Come February 4 (this Wednesday), Proton will introduce its first plug-in hybrid (PHEV) offering, the eMas 7 PHEV, which will come in three variants and is estimated to cost between RM110,000 and RM130,000.
