With the second-generation BMW M2 having received an update in June 2024 and arriving in Malaysia almost exactly 12 months after that, the updated G87 can now be optioned with a host of M Performance parts, should an owner deem the two-door coupé to be in need of more visual aggression.
The ensemble focuses on the exterior of the G87, where the package brings a serving of components in carbon-fibre. Starting at the front, there are the front air inlet attachment trim for RM21,821, exterior mirror caps (pair, left and right sides; RM9,008), and wheel arch side panel cover trim (front and rear; RM9,882).
Moving along its sides, there are side sill attachments (pair, left and right; RM10,419), rear bootlid mounted spoiler; RM24,243, and the silencer system comprised of titanium exhaust tailpipes and rear diffuser for RM56,771. All in, the set of M Performance parts shown here for the G87 M2 comes to RM132,145.
Depicted in the brochure, but not specified on the Malaysian-market car here is the 20-inch front and 21-inch rear forged aluminium wheel set; the car photographed here retains the regular M2’s wheel set that measures 19 inches and 20 inches front and rear, respectively, shod in tyres measuring 275/35R19 and 285/30R20.
The G87 M2 for Malaysia gets the M Carbon roof as standard equipment, with more carbon-fibre trim to be found in the cabin. Interior kit on the updated G87 M2 is comprised of M Sport seats, M seatbelts, anthractite headliner, illuminated door sills, three-zone climate control, comfort access, powered front seats (with driver’s side memory function), ambient lighting and a wireless charging tray.
Infotainment kit is comprised of a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and 14.9-inch infotainment touchscreen with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support, a 14-speaker Harman Kardon surround sound system, adaptive LED headlamps and a tyre pressure monitoring system.
The M Performance kit applies no changes to the powertrain of the G87 M2, which continues to be the S58 3.0 litre turbocharged inline-six petrol engine that outputs 480 PS at 6,250 rpm and 600 Nm from 2,650 rpm to 6,130 rpm, driving the rear wheels through an eight-speed automatic transmission and M Sport differential.
Key features for the chassis continue to include adaptive M suspension and M Compound brakes, while the M Drive Professional system offers a range of configurability in drive modes.
The 2026 G87 BMW M2 in Malaysia is priced at RM656,800 with the standard two-year warranty, or RM699,100 with the extended five-year warranty and service package, according to the BMW Malaysia website.

Mother of god…it looks hideous
Do we know how much the 20/21 inch forged aluminum wheels are going for? Is there a price list somewhere?
Good lord.. such a low-class tasteless piece of junk. Dear Europeans, just look at the well-balanced design of many Chinese cars today, and reflect upon yourselves as to why the China automotive sector is relentless conquering one market after another.
Look at the BYD Seal.. Leapmotor B01 and B05.. Chery Fulwin.. Geely Preface.. These are among the Chinese automakers’ non-SUV models that look sleek, modern, and stylish without jarring design elements that do not age well.
I’m sure that back in 2010, we’d have expected that by 2026, European sedans and hatches would look sleek and modern like these current Chinese models, and we’d think that Chinese cars (based on 2010 standards) would look clunky and jarring with non-harmonious loud design elements.
But as it turns out, today the Chinese are producing sleek, elegant modern designs while the Europeans are churning out clunky jarring designs with mismatched design elements.
Byd car very ugly. Some Look like last few gen CRV or Celica. Girls especially refuse to ride in. They prefer BMW more. An ordinary guy or women will take BMW in a sec if both price the same. So the reality tell. Just like a Guess bag and LV bag. You can bash the LV piece of junk selling for rocket price with stupid design. But if suddenly the LV price promotion drop to match guess, you will abandon the super nice guess and get the LV. Human logic. Thats why you dont see China car much on the road. Getting lesser by the day.
“Thats why you dont see China car much on the road. Getting lesser by the day.” – the sales charts tell a different story
This true”player” knows only fat girls like BMW
So ah beng looks…wahahaha.
ringgit getting stronger and yet euro car prices going up?why?
Saw one in Tokyo. Photo look ugly, but Real life just like the new 530i, look like transformer lol…which is not bad and macho. Presence is high too. Will turn some head.
