87 summons issued for RX-Z gathering in Malacca

A large gathering of Yamaha RXZ riders in Malacca over the weekend attracted attention of police. As a result, 87 summons were issued for various offences committed by the riders, as reported by The Malay Mail.

The gathering, dubbed “RXZ Members Ride Edition 3.0 2025”, with numbers reported to be in the thousands, saw motorcyclists descending on Malacca on the weekend of December 12 to 14. Numerous complaints were recorded from the public, saying the riders were being a public nuisance and creating unnecessary noise.

As a result of the Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department (JSPT) of the Malacca contingent police headquarters crackdown, summons were issued. These were for, 14 cases of expired motor vehicle licences, 13 cases of not having a valid driving licence, one for expired driving licence and 11 cases of failure to display P or L stickers.

Additionally, state police chief Datuk Dzulkhairi Mukhtar said in a statement, “Other offences recorded included the use of 10 cases of unauthorised accessories, ninen cases of no of insurance coverage, six instances of not having side mirrors and five motorcycles with missing registration numbers.”

Malacca police also issued summons for helmet offences, modified exhausts, fancy registration numbers and faulty brake lights, plus two cases of failure to obey instructions and a case of failure to stop during the operation (one case). No arrests or seizures were made during the operation.

The gathering was sanctioned by the Malacca state government, in conjunction with the state’s preparations for Visit Melaka Year (TMM) 2.0 and Visit Malaysia 2026, targeting 19 million tourist arrivals in 2026. Malacca Chief Minister Datuk Seri Ab Rauf Yusoh said, “the “RXZ Members Ride Edition Melaka 3.0 2025″ attracted more than 70,000 visitors to the Melaka International Trade Centre (MITC) in Ayer Keroh here over its two-day run.”
