2026 Mitsubishi Triton Street launched in Thailand – Mega Cab with different face, 150 PS diesel; RM83k

The Mitsubishi Triton has gained a new variant in Thailand called the Street, which is priced at 649,000 baht (about RM83k) and is based on the existing Mega Cab. According to Headlightmag, the Street improves upon and replaces the Mega Cab 2.4 Active that previously retailed for the same amount.

The most notable change is the six-sided intake grille, which is of an entirely different profile to the rest of the Triton line-up and better visually separates the front lighting elements. There’s also a new front bumper with a large section of it finished in black, including the surround for the absent fog lamps.

Elsewhere, the Street is fitted with 17-inch alloy wheels, a size in between the Mega Cab Pro’s 16-inch and Mega Cab Pro AT’s 18-inch units. Like those variants, the Street gets a forward collision mitigation (FCM) system (with pedestrian detection) that is a form of autonomous emergency braking.

Unlike the Mega Cab, the Street is fitted with a normal-powered version of the 4N16 2.4 litre inline-four turbodiesel engine that makes 150 PS (148 hp or 110 kW) at 3,500 rpm and 330 Nm of torque from 1,500 to 3,000 rpm. By comparison, the high-powered version of this engine makes 184 PS (181 hp or 135 kW) at 3,500 rpm and 430 Nm from 2,250 to 2,500 rpm.

The Street’s 4N16 is paired with a six-speed manual transmission that sends drive exclusively to the rear wheels – the Mega Cab has a six-speed automatic option (Mega Cab Pro AT). Also included is brake-type active limited slip differential.

Given this is the most affordable Mega Cab-bodied variant on sale in Thailand, the kit list is modest. The Street comes with multi-reflector halogen headlamps, fabric seat upholstery, two airbags, active stability control, traction control, hill start assist, ABS, EBD, brake assist and two speakers.

However, it does come with a 10-inch touchscreen head unit with support for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Available colours for the Street include Solid White, Blade Silver and Graphite Gray. A five-year/150,000-km vehicle warranty is included along with 24-hour emergency assist and free service labour for five years or 100,000 km.

Only pickups and some EVs assembled in Thailand are cheap. Try searching for prices of import cars in Thailand without going into a minor heart attack. You also forgot to mention Thais looking enviously at our lower fuel prices and electricity tariffs. Please dont just simply cherry pick facts to suit your political agenda
