The sixth-generation Nissan Micra was at this year’s Japan Mobility Show, so here’s a gallery of the B-segment hatchback that first made its global debut back in March.
Sharing the same CMF-B EV (now referred to as AmpR Small) platform as the Renault 5 E-Tech, the Micra is an electric vehicle (EV) that is available in two powertrain options. The base setup features a 40-kWh battery as well as a front-mounted electric motor rated at 122 PS (121 hp or 90 kW) and 225 Nm of torque – this provides up to 319 km of range following the WLTP standard.
Meanwhile, the higher-spec powertrain gets a 52-kWh battery for up to 418 km of range, as well as a more powerful electric motor delivering 150 PS (148 hp or 110 kW) and 245 Nm. Both have a top speed of 150 km/h, with the 40-kWh variant needing nine seconds to get from 0-100 km/h, while the 52-kWh car taking eight seconds.
The Micra will support DC fast charging at a maximum of 100 kW (52-kWh battery) or 80 kW (40-kWh battery), with a 15-80% state of charge taking 30 minutes – AC charging is capped at 11 kW. There is also a vehicle-to-load (V2L) system to power external devices.
In terms of dimensions, the latest Micra is roughly the size of its predecessor, measuring in at 3,974 mm long, 1,830 mm wide, 1,499 mm tall and with a wheelbase of 2,541 mm. Pricing for the Micra in the United Kingdom – sales started there in September – starts from 21,495 pounds (about RM118k) including the local EV grant.
