Lotus Cars Malaysia celebrates 250th Eletre customer – Sabahan Adam Shamil is youngest hyper-SUV owner

Lotus Cars Malaysia has delivered its 250th Eletre – a rather remarkable feat given the hyper-SUV’s premium price tag. As such, if today’s the day you go and collect yours, you’d want to be made to feel super special, and the team certainly rose to the occasion, and then some, for Adam Shamil.

At 31 years old, Adam is so far Malaysia’s youngest Eletre owner and a man of many talents. Hailing from Kota Kinabalu, he’s a content creator, entrepreneur, professional emcee, singer and founder of the Sabah-based dessert brand Chunk and Dunk.

Arriving at Lotus Kuala Lumpur with a video team to immortalise every personalised moment, Adam was welcomed by the Lotus team and served artisanal pastries and beverages, which he and his company thoroughly enjoyed.

The Sabahan was then delighted to be presented with a 1:18 die-cast model of the Eletre, of which only 1,200 exist globally. He was then led to the delivery bay, specially designed not only to accentuate vehicle beauty but to evoke an atmosphere of prestige, luxury and exclusivity.

One dramatic pull of the cloth and there it was – Adam was over the moon to clap eyes on his very own Eletre 600 Sport SE, wrapped in a fetching Matte Liquid Metal Silver. With 612 PS, 710 Nm of torque and a 4.5-second century sprint time, Adam will no longer have any excuses for being late!

Almost nothing else in the market offers this kind of muscle at this price, and the Sport SE’s dynamic handling pack (comprising an active anti-roll bar and rear-wheel steering) and active rear spoiler join forces with Lotus’ renowned chassis know-how to keep all that power in control.

Charges fast, too – the Eletre is an 800-volt EV and can swallow up to 350 kW DC (10-80% in 20 minutes) and 22 kW AC. The range is an impressive 600 km WLTP.

Knowing that fully-imported (CBU) EVs would cost more next year as their tax-free status ends, Adam decided it was now or never, for Lotus EV prices could then swell by over RM200k. Plus, the active Lotus Official Club Malaysia provides owners with a platform to enjoy the company of like-minded individuals.

Besides content for his own Instagram page, videos were also filmed in collaboration with the Koocester team, known for their automotive and lifestyle productions. Reels and TikTok videos from the visit will be published soon on both parties’ social media platforms.
