It’s not shaping out to be a great day for commuters on the MRT Putrajaya Line, especially when the ASEAN Summit is in session and many are relying on trains to get in and out of a city on ‘total lockdown’. Rapid KL has announced that train services on the PYL are currently experiencing disruptions due to a signalling system issue.
For now, trains are being manually operated between Kwasa Damansara and Putrajaya Sentral stations, and commuters can expect longer stops at each station. Free shuttle bus services are provided to alleviate the situation, but commuters have been advised to consider alternative travel options.
Earlier, the line’s operator announced that the manually driven trains will have a frequency of between 15 to 20 minutes while they work hard to fix the issues. The free shuttle buses have intervals of 15 to 20 minutes, depending on the traffic situation.
Check out the graphics above for more info, including stations on other rail lines that aren’t too far away from affected MRT Putrajaya Line stations – you might want to consider these alternatives. Last week, it was revealed that cable theft might be causing issues to the PYL – if so, may the thieves be caught and punished.
