Volvo Car Malaysia (VCM) recently announced a series of updates for the 2026 model year, including the facelifted XC60 and the introduction of the EC40 Ultra Single Motor. One other update is the revision of the colour palette for the XC90, which got its facelift in April this year.
The three-row SUV can now be had with an Aurora Silver exterior finish (pictured here), which joins the existing Onyx Black, Denim Blue and Crystal White – Vapour Grey appears to have been dropped. All hues are no-cost options and are paired with a Charcoal interior with Grey Ash decor and Nappa leather seat upholstery.
The XC90 is offered in two variants, including the Ultra T8 that is priced at RM434,888 on-the-road without insurance. This comes with a plug-in hybrid powertrain with a total system output of 462 PS (456 hp or 340 kW) and 709 Nm of torque, a 0-100 km/h time of 5.3 seconds and up to 77 km of electric-only driving range.
There’s also the Ultra B5 for less at RM418,888, which features a combustion engine augmented by a 48-volt mild hybrid system for 249 PS (246 hp or 183 kW) and 350 Nm and a century sprint time of 7.7 seconds – the XC90’s top speed is 180 km/h.
Both variants are based around a 2.0 litre turbocharged inline-four petrol engine mated to an eight-speed automatic, with the Ultra T8 sporting an electric all-wheel drive setup (rear electric motor) compared to the Ultra B5 that gets a mechanical system. A five-year, unlimited-mileage new car warranty is included with each purchase, along with an eight-year, 160,000-km warranty on the PHEV battery.
VCM also noted in its release that Volvo Car UX will be standard on all 2026 model year cars. This brings with it a new interface for the central touchscreen featuring larger buttons and dynamic shortcuts that appear contextually depending on the driving situation. For instance, a shortcut that provides direct access to drive modes may appear at startup or a 360-degree camera button when slowing down to park.
