The server system tasked with handling the Budi Madani RON 95 (Budi95) RON95 petrol subsidy is capable of processing 30,000 transactions a minute, prime minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has said, reported Bernama.
The enhanced server capacity has been designed to prevent technical disruptions, such as those experienced under the Sumbangan Asas Rahmah (Sara) aid scheme, said the prime minister.
“The aim is to avoid the issues we faced during the initial rollout of Sara. The Budi95 system has a much larger server capacity. Sara was originally designed for a smaller group, and we learned from that experience. While Sara was able to process 3,000 transactions per minute, Budi95’s server can handle 10 times that capacity, processing over 30,000 transactions per minute,” he said.
The prime minister also urged the public not to panic or rush when the Budi95 system is implemented on September 30, according to the report.
Yesterday, the ministry of finance released the full list of frequently asked questions (FAQ) regarding the RON95 fuel subsidy initiative. On the same day, the website for the petrol subsidy went online, where Malaysians can check their eligibility for purchasing RON95 petrol at the upcoming rate of RM1.99 per litre at a quota of 300 litres a month, while e-hailing drivers are not subject to the quota.
The finance ministry also announced yesterday that Malaysians with learners (L) and provisional (P) licences can qualify for RON95 petrol at its subsidised rate.
Earlier this week, various fuel retailer brands posted to social media to demonstrate how the fuel purchasing process will work from September 30. Meanwhile, the refuelling of eligible petrol-powered commercial vehicles will be applicable to nine vehicle types in the public transport segment, and 12 types in the goods vehicles/logistics sector under the Subsidised Petrol Control System (SKPS).

Malaysia has 15.8mil drivers.
30k = less than 0.2% or less than 2 in 1,000
Is he sure this is sufficient. Assuming only 20% of the driving travel during rush how in Malaysia. It only takes 1% of drivers to pump within 1 min to crash the system.
obviously its impossible for 1% of drivers to collide within the exact same minute. even assuming during peak hour the transaction will be spread out across 60 minutes which is 3600 seconds. this should be obvious to anyone who is above Ollie-level intelligence
just wait for deepavali holidays and see what happens
30,000/min = 500/sec
VISA is capable of processing 4000/sec (8x capacity)
Budi95 has 15.8mil, VISA has 4.7bil users worldwide (300x more user than Budi95.
Skejap ada limit, skejap xde limit. Mentri kiri pon xtau mentri kanan cakap apa. Anwar sendiri pon xingat ape dia cakap minggu lepas.
Why make so complicated when we should ask Rafizi & PMX, what about their janji above.
Dah menang lepas tu capati janji! A gomen of thieves & liars!
#TurunAnwar
then… what do you propose? I would like to know your idea and planning.
petrol price up = plainbs complain
petrol price remain = plainbs also complain
petrol price down= planbs still complain
nothing complicated its just a small extra step to validate IC so that foreigner (the commenter i replied to) dont get to enjoy our cheap petrol
PDAM said card readers r in place in petrol stations.
However,a trip to 2 petronas stations in BT caves and Sri Gombak ..no card readers are visible.
So those who do not have the petronas apps, have to queue up at the counters?
Seems, like we better pump some petrol b4 the roll out of Budi Ron 95.
shouldnt you instead delay your petrol purchase for the next few days because there might be a chance you actually get to enjoy cheaper petrol next week ? if u pump now then you already paid the unsubsidized price.
magnificent move by great leader DSAI by introducing this Budi95 scheme , to kill 3 birds with one stone
1. blacklist vvips who didnt renew road tax of their expensive cars.
2. blacklist drivers who didnt renew driving license
3. treat all malaysians equally and fairly and remove the T20/M40/B40 Caste which previously dividied us.
plainbs u think the former ministers Anjib and WKS could ever have thought of such a plan? fat chance they would have been busy lining their own pockets.
30,000 transactions per minute is about 500 transactions per seconds. That is VERY SLOW!! There’s over 3,500 petrol stations in MY commonly equipped with 4 to 6 dispensers that have two terminals per dispenser (right & left sides). Let say every stations only two terminals being used during off-peak hours simultaneously, and only 1/10 of them did payment transactions exactly at the same time, that’s already 700 transactions at the exact same time and this system can only handle 500 transactions per second. Peak hours would be hell.
deiii matcha obviously it wont all collide at the exact same time . even during peak hours the transactions will be spread out across one hour which is 60 minutes which is 3600 seconds. this should be obviously to anyone who isnt Ollie intelligence
I think you have comprehension problem. Peak hours means almost ALL payment terminals being utilised at the same period of time, and peoples are queuing up, so it continuously being fully utilised. Doing payment only take seconds. Why do you have to spread it to 1 hour, make no sense. If there’s 4 dispensers per petrol stations, that means 8 terminals per stations. You multiply that to 3500 stations across MY, that’s 28,000 payment terminals BEING UTILISED AT THE SAME PERIOD OF TIME!! Of course not all of them will collide at the same time, thus out of 28,000 LET SAY: IF!! 1/10 of them probably collide that’s already 2,800 transactions colliding. Let’s go even lower at 1/40 (that’s only 2.5%), that’s already 700 transactions colliding!! BUT THE SYSTEM CAN ONLY SUPPORT UP TO 500 TRANSACTIONS PER SECOND!! IF IT WOULDN’T CRASH, IT WOULD STILL BE SLOW AF!! That calculation doesn’t even account the additional 2 or 4 dispensers many stations have in the cities and highways, and there’s over 3500 petrol stations in 2024, and even more stations approaching end of 2025 not accounted in this calculation.
If u study harder or at least smarter or at the very least use your brain, u will discover a whole new perspective of seeing things.
Once a transaction is completed, that slot will be used for the next transaction. It would be stupid for a system to limit 30k transaction per hour. Just like how credit card or debit card transaction works.
Even with new perspective, still are useless if failing to see the wider aspect of said perspective.
The og comment assumes all 700 transactions at the exact same time. Capable of 500 transactions per seconds means another 200 has to wait for the next second to complete. That is slow. During peak hours, this “waiting for next second” will happen non-stop as people are queuing up to fill their vehicles. That’s still generous without counting in an internet ping speed as this is a multiple communication attempts from terminals to servers even for only one transaction.
We’re not in GIRO era anymore. Transaction should be done in seconds. This pleb revealing transaction capability in “minute” time-frame really doesn’t help at all.
Can be capable of 3 million transactions per minute, will still fail. Because TIM*
