‘KEL’ number plate series now open for tender – JPJ

‘KEL’ number plate series now open for tender – JPJ

If you’re looking for the perfect number plate for your Perodua Kelisa, good news! The Kedah Road Transport Department (JPJ) has announced that tenders for the ‘KEL’ plate series is now open from now until October 23, 2017.

In a report by Bernama, the department expects public response to be similar to those for the previous ‘KEE’ and ‘KEK’ plate series. “The Kedah JPJ had the highest collection from the tenders for the number plate ‘KEE’, amounting to RM308,000 while in 2016, ‘KEK’ collected RM189,000,” revealed Ismasuhaimi Shariff, Kedah JPJ director.

“So we expect KEL 1 to KEL 9999 to also draw good collection as there are many combinations which could become words like ‘KEL 14’ (Kelia), ‘KEL 413’ (Kelab), ‘KEL 154’ (Kelisa) and ‘KEL 1847’ (Kelibat),” he aded.

The tender process for the ‘KEL’ plate series will see three categories of plate numbers, starting with the golden numbers (1 to 10) where tenders start from RM10,000. Next are the interesting numbers (double digits) from RM2,000, popular numbers (combined digits) from RM300, and running numbers from RM210.

Ismasuhaimi was confident that the response for the ‘KEL’ plate series would be encouraging and hit the RM2 million mark for tenders, compared with the ‘KEE’ plate series, which collected RM1.88 million.

This has become the joke of the century. Every week got number tender. No more exclusivity anymore.

The best part is, JPJ collects hundreds of millions but yet, our hospitals have run out of funding and some don’t even have money to do simple blood test.

Some schools, in 2017, don’t even have proper tables and chairs. Some, don’t even have kipas.

Don’t know where all the money JPJ is collecting is going!

This is a good source of income for Govt and should be followed as there are many with surplus funds and this is one way of satisfying their fantasies to show off that they are successful.
Some series have been given in the past to some selected NGOS where collections were in tens of millions but there is no way of knowing how this privatized public revenue was managed as there is NO TRANSPARENCY and no evidence on how the funds were MONITORED by those in Authority.

    • By authorities, which do u mean? JPJ only facilitates the allocation & selling of plates, then gip money to NGOs. How the NGOs run their finance is up to them, really. Theres a reason why they r called NGO and gov cant oversee them.

Seriously? Kelisa? Aren’t you missing something… if you can buy that number, you probably won’t be driving a Kelisa. Maybe just for collection.

Now T1M will be on auction from 20.11.17 but REVENUE WILL BE TO ANOTHER NGO.
Why PIRATIZE public revenue to others?
Will the management of funds be subject to audit of Aud Gen or public scrutiny as otherwise in the absence of any Transparency and Accountability and Audit of the funds may make them susciptible to Risks including
MISMANAGEMENT FRAUD CORRUPTION COLLUSION CRONYISM EMBEZZELMENT BRIBERY KICKBACKS NEPOTISM?
Public money should be in public accounts to be used for public benefit.
