Tokyo 2013: Daihatsu Deca Deca ‘super space’ vehicle

Daihatsu Deca Deca TMS-15

Besides the Kopen roadster, there was another fascinating Tokyo 2013 concept from Daihatsu that caught our eye. The Daihatsu Deca Deca concept is described as a ‘super space’ vehicle – one look into the cabin and you’ll know why.

Great packaging is not a hidden talent at the compact car specialist, but Deca Deca takes things up a notch – it’s surely a more comfortable and spacious place to sleep in than this city’s capsule hotels. The tall van (1,850 mm), powered by a 660 cc turbo triple, offers a commanding viewpoint and a sense of openness together with utility for outdoor pursuits.

The double doors reveal a huge opening with no obstructing pillars, making it easy to roll in whatever you desire. The seats can be arranged in a variety of poses or folded flat to make a bed. Whatever you do in there, shielded by those tall sides, is up to you.

The side windows (especially the third one that sorta flows from the top) is so Discovery 3 it hurts. Still, looks pretty funky.
