The most viewed Super Bowl in history was the 2023 edition, with over *** million people watching the Kansas City Chiefs defeating the Philadelphia Eagles. That year, the end of the second quarter and the well-known halftime show recorded the highest numbers of TV viewers. Around *** million people watched these parts of the Super Bowl in 2023.

Traditional TV still on top

The majority of Americans still consume the Super Bowl in front of their traditional TV. According to a 2023 survey among U.S. adults, over three in four people had planned to watch the game live on TV, while only ** percent had intended to use streaming services such as Peacock for this purpose. However, streaming this sporting event is increasing in popularity. Nearly ** million people watched the Super Bowl via streaming services in 2023, up by around **** million viewers from the previous year.
